Rab Infinity Down Jacket - Men's

December 6, 2010

Mine says that it's made in China. Also, while I don't have any experience with the WM Flash Jacket the Infinity would be a much warmer jacket due to the amount of down, 7.4oz in the Infinity vs 3oz in the Flight but the Flight is also half the weight of the Infinity (if manufacturer claims are accurate). I haven't had a chance to put my Infinity on a balance but I would guess that it's under the claimed 18oz total weight for size medium, the review at the bottom says that their large only came in at 16.2 oz.

Arc'teryx Beta LT Pant - Men's

August 18, 2010

Are these pants being discontinued? I noticed that Arc'teryx updated their website recently and these are no longer listed.

Arc'teryx Alpha SV Mitt

August 12, 2010

Which of the new Arc'teryx mittens are the warmest? These or the Sigma AR mitts? I know with the SV designation and being heavier probably the Alpha SV but I noticed that the Sigma AR's have fleece and primaloft for insulation while the SV's only have fleece.

Patagonia DAS Insulated Parka - Men's

January 19, 2010

How does the DAS parka compare to the Arc'teryx Dually belay parka in terms of warmth? The DAS parka is 2oz heavier but it says that it has 170g (6oz) of Primaloft vs the Dually parka saying that it only has 2.7oz of Thermatek (per Arcteryx's website). From this i'd assume the DAS is warmer? I'm looking for a systhetic jacket to complement my Feathered Friends Volant in terms of warmth so was curious if anyone had any insight.

Extremely light weight yet durable

The North Face DIAD Jacket - Men's

The North Face DIAD Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 15, 2007

The North Face DIAD does what it's designed to do and does it well. It's ultra lightweight and completely waterproof. The only possible place that moisture could sneak through would be the zippers but that was never a problem for me. The lush green looks great and while the material is thin it seems to be very durable. It definitely deserves the editor's choice award from Backpacker.
