These are my favorite wool boxers

SmartWool Microweight Hipster Underwear - Women's

SmartWool Microweight Hipster Underwear - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 June 11, 2009

I have other brands of fine merino wool briefs but these are the ones I wear whenever there's a Hip Belt involved such as with a backpack. They wear for days, wash up great, dry quickly, are very soft, and, so far have been durable (as much as could be expected with a microweight). My hips are 38 inches, I wear XL because I don't like tight fits, these are very comfortable.

These have become my "Everydays"

Icebreaker Nature Bikini Underwear - Women's

Icebreaker Nature Bikini Underwear - Women's

Easily getting 3 days use before need washing (backpacking, hut2hut skiing, etc.). They do take a while to dry, but if you put them on while still damp your body heat dries them out fairly quickly. I just make sure I always have 1 fresh pair to put on. My hips are 38 inches, I can wear a large but got XL in case of shrinkage, no shrinking as yet after 4 machine washes on delicate, hang to air dry. Bought them for outdoor activities but am now wearing them everyday. Downside is their cost, I can only afford when on sale, but, totally worth it, am budgeting for more.

Icebreaker BodyFit200 Oasis Crew - Men's

February 24, 2009

This might be too warm for that, but it depends on how hot-natured you are. The bodyfit 200 is nice and clingy without being constricting and has a great warmth-to-weight ratio. If I were you though, I'd go down 1 "notch" to something just slightly cooler.I'd recommend the Patagonia Capilene 1 Crew or the SmartWool Microweight Crew. If I'm Indoors more than Out: Icebreaker 150, Smartwool Microweight, Patagonia Wool 2. I find the Patagonia to be more comfortable/soft but not quite as durable as the other 2. If I'm Outdoors more than In: Icebreaker 200, Smartwool Lightweight.
