DAKINE Poacher Backpack - 2746cu in

I have the previous model of the poacher and this one. i loved my previous model...except for the fact that it did not have A-Frame ski carry. Well, the guys at Dakine outdid themselves here. Same great features as the previous model (Big Rear access, nice gear loops on the outside, big snow tool pocket in the front) but it now has A-frame carry accessibility! Nice work!

This would be a good shovel for that. You get good leverage with the extendable handle but it is also very stowable. It has a nice big durable blade to move lots of snow.

Ortovox Patroller Digital Transceiver

They are a very similar beacon. The patroller has the added benefit of an analog search mode that the D3 did not have. This will allow you to pick up the beacon signal at greater distances and perform an analog search until you are within range for the digital search mode to kick in.
