Im 5'11" and 185lbs I got a large and it fits well. It does have enough room for a fairly thick midlayer underneath.

I bought the large and it seems to fit perfectly! I'm 5'11" and 185lbs. There is enough room for a sweater underneath but not too much room. I own the MH windstopper vest and it rocks, so I'm sure this jacket will be my all around three season buddy for years to come. I highly recommend buying from BC! Their customer service is outstanding and their return policy is great too!

I paid for two day shipping but UPS couldn't do it. It came in 5 business days rather than the two that I paid for. I emailed BC and they promptly refunded my 15 bucks for shipping and sent me a conformation email telling me they were doing so. AWESOME company, AWESOME jacket!

Bomb Proof! Huge!

Bought the red in XL and it came in the mail today. First of all, the bag seems invincible. I think I could put my fridge in there. The backpack straps are the best part of the bag though. I found it cheaper on another site, but decided to stick with BC cause I LOVE the company! Example: I paid for two day shipping through UPS but they didn't deliver it in two days. BC refunded my 15 bucks for shipping.

I'd go with the XL. I'm 5'11" 185 and the chest is close to its limit. I wear a 44" suit coat.

Absolutely awesome! Just came in the mail last night and I wore it to the movies. It was 28 degrees and I only had one cotton T under it and had no issues with wind or cold. I left it on during the whole movie and it was perfectly happy! I was particularly happy with the collar and how it stands up. I really hate it when you zip up the whole way and the top part seems to curl in and fall down below my chin. This jacket had a stiff enough collar that it stays up and out of the way so that I can easily tuck my face down inside when I need to. Can't wait to hit the slopes with this baby!!!

oh yeah, just to test the water resistance, I literally poured a cup of water on the sleeve over the sink and it just beaded and rolled off of my arm! It made me laugh! Sweet threads man!!! Thanks BackCountry!! I now have a goat farm on my ski helmet!!

Stoic Bombshell Jacket - Men's

Bought this for ski season cause it was on SAC. After reading the other reviews I was nervous about the sizing. I am 5'11" - 185lb I'd say I'm an athletic build. I bought a Large and I'd have to say the fit was pretty good. It could have easily fit a fairly thick midlayer under it. The fabric was darn impressive too! The sleeves were not too long as some other reviewers stated.

Now, for the deal breaker…. One very important think to have in a ski/board jacket is a sturdy collar. I kinda knew from the pictures that this was gonna be an issue, but for 140 bucks, I thought I'd give it a shot. When you zip it up completely it just folds or falls down to the bottom of my neck. If you pull it up over your nose and hold it there by keeping your head slightly forward, its fine. But when you start moving your arms and head around it curls in and your chip is rubbing against the outside of the zipper.
