Great fit!

Backcountry.com Shift Softshell Jacket - Women's

Backcountry.com Shift Softshell Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 1, 2008

I'm pear-shaped, so it's tough to find a fitted jacket that is big enough in the hips but isn't huge in the top. This jacket fits perfectly! I'm 5'6", 145 pounds and I ordered the size Large. The bodice is fitted, but still has room for several light layers underneath. The length of the arms is perfect...the sleeve falls at the meaty part of my thumb. To top it all off, the jacket is mid-weight, wind-resistant, water-resistant and perfect for those days in the 40's. I highly recommend it!

Sleeves too long

Mountain Hardwear Synchro Jacket - Women's

Mountain Hardwear Synchro Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 1, 2008

First of all, the jacket is gorgeous and I really wish it fit. I am pear-shaped, so I ordered a LARGE to make sure the jacket fit in the hips (I'm 5'6", 145 lbs). The jacket did fit perfectly in the hips, but the arms were WAY too long....like down to my finger tips. If you have this same problem, I would recommend looking at the Backcountry Shift Softshell Jacket or the Ibex Pingo Jacket. Both of these jackets (size L) fit me very well and were very similar to the Mountain Hardwear Synchro Jacket.

Very Shiny

Arc'teryx Epsilon AR Jacket - Women's

Arc'teryx Epsilon AR Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 1, 2008

First of all, this jacket is a great mid-weight jacket. It's length is a little shorter than other jackets in the same size...it falls just above my hip, where other jackets fall at the hip (I'm 5'6"). Also, I ordered the "Celestite" color and it is a bit shinier and brighter than pictured on the website. One other minor item is that the pockets are located mid-bodice on the front of the jacket. It's tough to see on the website photos, but they stick out a little bit.

Great gloves!

Mountain Hardwear Headwall XCR Glove - Women's

Mountain Hardwear Headwall XCR Glove - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 March 29, 2006

These gloves are warm and virtually waterproof, so I highly recommend them for someone who spends a lot of time with their hands in the snow. Mountain Hardwear is a wonderful brand. I have never been disappointed with any product of theirs.

Great fit!

Smith Anthem Regulator Spherical Series Goggles- Women's

Smith Anthem Regulator Spherical Series Goggles- Women's

Rating for this product: 4 March 8, 2005

I bought the Black - with Platinum Mirror lens. Since I am not a fan of huge goggles, I bought these. The fit was perfect for my face and ultra comfortable. The mirrored lenses worked wonderful in bright sunlight and overcast conditions, but I haven't used them in the twilight hours yet. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 was that I had a minor problem with them fogging up occasionally in really cold conditions. Overall, though, these are the best goggles I've owned so far.

Gortex rocks!

The North Face Fury Gore-Tex XCR Hiking Shoe - Women's

The North Face Fury Gore-Tex XCR Hiking Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 8, 2005

I've been looking for a pair of all-purpose hiking/cross-training shoes that were waterproof, but comfortable. These are the shoes. They are made with Gore-Tex so they keep the water out. However, I recommend putting a few coats of waterproofing spray to extend the life of the shoe. On a side note, I usually wear a 7 1/2 M so I ordered a 7 1/2 M...they fit perfect. These shoes are in the stores for $100 right now, so anything less than that is a steal!
