Atomic Access Ski

May 1, 2012

It's very light. Not Manaslu light, but very good for touring. Probably same or lighter than K2 Coomback.

Liberty Helix Ski

October 27, 2011

FWIW, my girlfriend is 5'7" and 130. She's athletic, but not superstrong, also just coming back to skiing after 15 years off. She's gonna be on 167s even though we will be in the backcountry 90% of the time. They have full camber with maybe a couple cms of early rise (the "stealth rocker") so even w/ twintips, they ski pretty true to size.

Liberty Helix Ski

They seem almost exactly like the Line Influence, except they aren't made in China by a mega-K2onglomerate

Sierra Designs Gnar Hooded Down Jacket - Women's

April 1, 2011

Just got the men's XL and the tag says 11.5oz. It is super light, but that's because there isn't much fill. Probably not as warm as the Rab or Patagonia versions.

Nice, but critically flawed fit

Stoic Luft Hoody Insulated Sweater - Men's

Stoic Luft Hoody Insulated Sweater - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 February 15, 2011

I'm returning this because it is too tight in the arms. I am 6'2" and a healthy 190, but not muscle-bound. The arms are tight w/o anything underneath and just will not work when pulled over a shell and light baselayer as I usually wear in the backcountry.

If Stoic really wanted to take off, they would keep their price points, their no-frills "core-user" functionality and get the fit dialed. This is not the only Stoic piece I have had with a funky fit and I have to use caution in buying them. I go in to buying Stoic knowing there is at least a 50% chance I'll return it and I have cautioned friends as well. Now you all know and can make your own decisions. To Backcountry.com: change the fit from "tomato-with-toothpick-arms" to Height/Weight Proportionate and Stoic will be my brand of choice.
