I love Montrail!!!

Montrail Blue Ridge GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

Montrail Blue Ridge GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 7, 2009

Let me start by saying I've had lots of boots... The first pair of Montrails I bought were the Torre. I put hundreds of miles on them in the White Mountains of NH through all four seasons. After two full years of abuse I bought the Blue Ridge and I feel Montrail has out done themselves. I found the Blue Ridge to be super cushy, the Torre's are a little more bare bones. I have a long narrow foot and feel Montrail caters to that shape. I was a 12 in the Torre but had to get a 13 in the Blue Ridge due to the extra cush. I've used the Blue Ridge's for a year now again through four seasons in the White's and have no complaints. Break in time was nothing. I wear thin wool during warm months and a medium in the winter. No problem with overheating or being too cool. I did not treat either pairs of boots and had no problem with leaks of any kind. Plenty of support with a heavy pack. With a pair of green superfeet I've found my perfect pair.

Something to watch

Nixon Block Watch - Men's

Nixon Block Watch - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 20, 2006

I bought the block for a three week adventure through Iceland and Scotland. I needed a watch with an alarm, the ability to show different time zones, for writing deadlines, and a light. The block did all this and with style. At first the band felt a little large but shortly after it just became a part of my wrist. It stood up to some abuse as well as a good amount of water time. I am very pleased with my purchase and will have no problem purchasing another.

Face North

The North Face Cirque Top - Men's

The North Face Cirque Top - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 28, 2005

What I like best about the cirque is its weight. It is light yet very warm and because of the weight it seems to dry a little faster than some of my other thicker brand tops. The length is also great. I have the large and am able to tuck it in where it actually stays. My other tops all seem to come untucked when bent over or reaching, not the cirque. I am very satisfied.

Nixon Classic Icon Long Sleeve Tee

Nixon Classic Icon Long Sleeve Tee

Rating for this product: 5 January 28, 2005

Well, what can I say? It's a long sleve shirt... Though, I have received many different interpretations of the symbol, so it is also a coversation piece. Not just a long sleeve.

Legs'a fire. Almost...

Salomon Denali Pant - Men's

Salomon Denali Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 17, 2005

Since I have gotten these pants they are the only thing I've worn. They dry quickly and are plenty warm enough. I enjoy the quarter cut the most. No more bunching into socks leaving pant tracks in my legs. I wear about a 32 regular pant leg and the large pair of Denali's are a little tight. In the car or sitting they want to pull my legs straight, it is liveable, but I think I would go with an X-Large next time. They also do not hold odor, which is real nice. Overall, I am very satisfied.

LEKI Super Makalu Air Ergo PA Trekking Poles - 1 Pair

LEKI Super Makalu Air Ergo PA Trekking Poles - 1 Pair

Rating for this product: 5 January 14, 2005

Winter hiking in New Hampshire without poles is like driving a porche with no steering wheel. The Super M's are my steering wheel. They are very light weight, easily adjustable, and the grips are super comfortable. They have pulled me up some very rugged steeps and held me steady on the way down. Expensive, yes, but what do you expect? One can't skimp when it comes to equipment. I plan on having these for a very long time.
