Julbo Run Sunglasses - Falcon Polarized/Photochromic Lens

Julbo Run Sunglasses - Falcon Polarized/Photochromic Lens

Rating for this product: 3 July 19, 2011

I'm a huge fan of Julbo above any other make of sunglasses however I can't give these the best marks. First off the size is really big! I have a big noggin and these were even big on me. The lenses were pretty clear however because they were big on me light would come in from the top corners creating a blueish halo against the lenses. The quality is great, and the optics are crystal clear when there is no halo. I would recommend getting the Dirt model as they wrap around your head better and are a bit smaller keeping the similar style.

MSR HyperFlow Microfilter

MSR HyperFlow Microfilter

Rating for this product: 4 July 17, 2011

I don't know where all these negative reviews are coming from... Perhaps improper use? I go canoeing and hiking regularly in the summers every year and my buddy always brings this filter. We have NEVER had a problem with it. There have been times where it became difficult to pump, at which point we back flushed it and WHAMO! back to normal. We now use the hyperflow gravity adapter kit and go through roughly 16-25 liters of water per trip, depending on the amount of people, if not more. We have still never had a problem. And just to show I'm not an MSR fanboy (really I ain't, i try and use the best gear possible regardless of brand), We have used the MSR mini works, Katadyn Pro, Katadyn hiker, Katadyn Vario dual (the worst out of the bunch) and the Katadyn pocket micro filter. What can I say my buddy has a filter fetish. In any case this one has performed the best and longest out of them all. Plus it packs pretty small and is relatively light.
I would say that the individuals who wrote these poor reviews either had defect products, or perhaps weren't backflushing enough. The only draw back to this product is that you have to backflush it often, but its worth it. If you care for the product as instructed it will not fail you.
4 out of 5 stars because of the constant flushing.

Mountain Hardwear Alchemy Softshell Jacket - Men's

July 15, 2011

Thanks for the feedback!!
Was this snugg? or did you have any room for layers underneath? Also how was the length of the torso as I heard this is pretty short.
If you can let me know that would be great!
I find MH products to be all over the map with sizing and I am concerned about this one... no retailer sells this product where i live.

Julbo Contest Sunglasses - Zebra Antifog Polarized/Photochromic Lens

June 4, 2011

Are these lenses interchangeable? Or do you have to purchase the interchangeable pair in order to do that?
Also can you purchase the octopus lenses and zebra lenses separately?

What A Big Little Tent!!

Big Agnes Copper Spur UL1 Ultralight Tent: 1-Person 3-Season

Big Agnes Copper Spur UL1 Ultralight Tent: 1-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 May 15, 2010

After much debate between the Copper Spur and the Hubba HP i decided to go with the Big Agnes. I was initially worried about about head room... this is a non-factor now. I am 6'1 195Lbs. and can sit up straight without hitting my head on the ceiling. Now this is not a review on performance yet as i just received it and set it up. I'll be testing it out next weekend on a hiking trip. However the inside is HUGE!!! or at least has the feel of it being big due to the tapered footprint of this tent... wide at the shoulders and tapers down at the feet. The little back door to access the rear vestibule is genius and was one of the biggest selling features to me. Materials seem extremely light yet durable... I'll write back at a later date to see how it actually performs in the field... By the way set up took me literally 3 minutes . this is tent setup without fly.

Big Agnes Copper Spur UL1 Ultralight Tent: 1-Person 3-Season

May 2, 2010

How about quality wise and the materials used? I really do love the extra vestibule on the reverse side of this tent... means less items in the tent, plus i am wide at the shoulders... so i'm leaning toward the Big Agnes. I know the Hubba and Hubba HP are very well two of the best single man tents out there right now... does the Big Agnes stack up? I have never purchased a Big Agnes Product before.

Big Agnes Copper Spur UL1 Ultralight Tent: 1-Person 3-Season

May 2, 2010

How would this tent compare to the MSR Hubba or Hubba HP? I'm completely torn on what to get. I love the backdoor addition on this tent and the tapered design allowing more shoulder room. At my size of 6'1 190 Lbs. I hate being cramped, hence my switch from a Black Diamond Tripod Bivy to a one man tent (Although i do love my bivy). Anyhow, my two concerns are the height and the front zipper... WHY in the hell would they not give this tent a D door? No bottom zipper really kinda bugs me. Any suggestions?
