Decent gloves

Marmot Exum Work Glove

Marmot Exum Work Glove

Rating for this product: 4 February 3, 2011

Decent pair of gloves for the dry continental/inter mountain climate. Had them for a few months now. They are warm if you are working your body metabolically. I have use them from -10F (hiking jib park) to 20F (digging snowpits). Warmer than that my hands get very sweaty. As with most Marmot gloves, the wrist leashes are useful. Has adequate dexterity. Get some wax to seal the seams.

However, they do get wet from trapped moisture and the faux fur doesn't help. But if you are working, you will be fine. Would not recommend in maritime climates or anything beyond a day tour since they do not evaporate moist very well.

Cloudveil Zorro Jacket - Men's

Cloudveil Zorro Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 1 May 24, 2010

Don't bother. The inner layer tend to fray around collar and arms (where ever the fabric bends the most). Does not breath very well even in the dry intercontinental climate.

Okay for the suburban midwesterner walking around the streets of Boulder or some equally lame place.

Zippers blow.

GoLite Quest Pack - Men's - 4400cu in

GoLite Quest Pack - Men's - 4400cu in

Rating for this product: 3 April 26, 2010

Fine pack does its job mostly. Durable pack material. Ice axe loops could be improved upon. Zipper pulls tends to come out so keep track of them.

MSR WhisperLite International Multi-Fuel Stove

MSR WhisperLite International Multi-Fuel Stove

Rating for this product: 5 April 26, 2010

Good stuff, not idiot proof but does its job. Keeping the nozzle at the bottom clean is crucial. I use it whenever I cannot use my alcohol stove.

Marker Baron 12 Ski Binding

Marker Baron 12 Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 1 April 26, 2010

Piece of Crap. I am sick of waiting for partners to transition on these and I am on a splitboard. Watching peeps struggle to lock down the bindings due to snow or ice buildup is painful and freezing. I can rope up & dig a pit and still be waiting for them to chip away the ice in the grooves.

Fine if you practice but could use some improvements

Backcountry Access Tracker DTS Beacon

Backcountry Access Tracker DTS Beacon

Rating for this product: 3 April 26, 2010

Works but need regular practice as any beacon and make sure to do beacon checks regularly b/f & at the trailhead. Have found various partners' BCA Tracker DTS units tranceiving at way below their normal range (i.e.-3meters) and needed to be warranteed.

Multiple person search is definitely more complicated when compared to more current beacons (i.e.-S1).

Bulky.

Good jacket but WTF with the zippers

Cloudveil Koven Plus Jacket - Men's

Cloudveil Koven Plus Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 April 23, 2010

I am on my 3rd Koven jacket and will be my last. Everything is good except for the zippers (warranted it once due to total zipper failure)and velcro cuffs. Cloudveil zippers seem to get stuck or snags everything (same on my waders).

Good Design but poor execution & horrible new customer service department

Cloudveil Down Patrol Jacket - Men's

Cloudveil Down Patrol Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 April 23, 2010

Good design for the jacket but poorly constructed. Weak buttons and low quality zipper that snags everytime it is used (seems to be a Cloudveil trend).

To get a button fixed, it takes Cloudveil 3 freaking weeks to send it to a repair shop, whom did it in a week. The new Boulder customer service staff is a junkshow; they keep loosing track of warrant items sent to them (even with RA#s). This brand is going downhill fast.

I would definitely never buy from them again.
