You should fit fine. The Inuits have adjustable seats, thigh braces and foot pegs. The 12.5 fits a wide range of sizes from medium to extra large.

Native Watercraft Inuit 13.5 Kayak

Gary, the Inuit 13.5 fits medium to small paddlers better than the Inuit 14.5 (much larger cockpit than the 13.5) or 12.5 (one size fits most)
If you are 5 foot 6 and under 160 lbs I think you would fit. But if you usually where large sizes in clothing than you would like the 12.5 or 14.5 that are made for larger paddlers anywhere above 5 foot 8 and about 175 lbs.

Native Watercraft Marvel 14.5 Tandem Kayak
June 14, 2010
No problems for most paddlers to adjust the footpegs and have the Knees bent and resting comfortably on the Thigh/Knee pads. Check out some of the pics of couples in the tandem configuration, plenty of room for legs up around the Knee pads.

No, the rudder pedals only work for the stern paddler when in the tandem configuration. Use sweep and rudder strokes to turn the boat when paddling solo. hope this helps

Native Watercraft Inuit 12.5 Kayak
May 12, 2010
Very fast....compared to other boats around 12 1/2 feet and 26 inches wide. Speed is always proportional to waterline length, when width is constant.
Some characteristics of hull design can make a boat faster. Flat hulls are generally slow, narrow and slightly arched hulls will be generally faster. Some hull designs just feel faster than others when certain tweaks are made to the hull shape.
Inuits take the best characteristics from Modern or modified Greenland designs. The Shape is basically a shallow arch with harder chines to provide the best balance of speed and stability, without compromising responsiveness. Its also very easy to learn to roll the Inuit.
The Inuit's "true track" hull design adds a tremendous amount of stiffness through its hull geometry...the edges down the chines and under the hull make the hull stiffer than a lot of boats in this class. Less energy is wasted when the hull does not flex. All that Paddling effort translates into more forward momentum.
The seat and thigh brace bolts can be loosened and the seat adjusted to paddler. This allowance for customization will deliver the best mix of speed, comfort, responsiveness than other boats in this size/range/class. Your seat will determine how your bow will cut into the water.
In addition, the widest portion of the boat is just behind the seat, so it is still very responsive for a faster boat.

Native Watercraft Ultimate 12 Angler Kayak
May 10, 2010
Depends on where and the conditions. Ultimates are very stable, but still are "open deck style boats" like a canoe. Sounds are usually more protected than bays from wind, waves, and currents that could capsize any boat. For adverse conditions and open water fishing spots, check out the Manta Ray Angler Sit on top too.
