Jetboil Flash Personal Cooking System

The original ignition wasn't as sheltered from weather as on the new flash pcs. The sparking element was a little taller on the original, exposing it to bumps and nudges from moving about in a pack. I believe they shortened and repositioned it to be a bit more effective.

I've never had a problem with my original jetboil at altitude, but I do find myself spending a bit more fuel up there than at lower elevation. In the cold I haven't had issues with my original as long as I keep the canisters warm with a scrap of foam padding with reflective blanket attached.

Jetboil Coffee Press

This kit was an add on after I had used the jetboil pcs for a few trips. the couple ounces that this kit adds is worth its weight in gold every morning I'm sipping fresh coffee 15 minutes before everyone else is. I've also used it for loose teas with great success. Added bonus that it packs into the pot even with the fuel canister in there with the burner.

Make sure your coffee is a coarse grind and you take your time pressing it out or you'll be sucking down grounds.

The small amount of water to clean it out afterward is a minor inconvenience if you're far away from fresh water supplies but I generally have my filter with me.

If you drink coffee like I do this kit will be invaluable in the field. Snag one and get ready to bring that simple comfort of a hot cup of gourmet joe with you on the trail.

Jetboil Classic Personal Cooking System

I love my jetboil pcs.

Went to yosemite with me and on several multiday outings. I really enjoy the speed with which I can set up, cook, eat, clean, and stow this cookset.

The efficiency of the burner is a huge plus. I find myself using much less gas than my companions even at high altitude. The canisters are a bit bulky when empty and packing out, but I can live with the minor inconvenience.

The french press kit is is a huge hit in the morning, both for coffee and loose tea.

I do pack a small piece of blue foam pad with a reflective surface attached to it for cooking in cold weather just to keep the canister from freezing up.

Pick one up. You won't regret it when you're sipping hot fresh coffee before your campmates are.
