Another grand Stoic design.
Really dig the colors, except white - too susceptible to stains.
Great design features -
Love the thumb holes and extra long sleeves
great zipper neck for quick heat release
not sure if I'll ever use the chest pocket but good to have
nice waist cut is lower in the back

I'm 5'7" @ 135lbs athletic build, ordered 2 in size small, its not skin tight on me but that might change after a warm washing.

Got my down "sweater" in the mail the other day.
Caveats -
Yes the orange color nylon material is translucent and one can see the dark colored down as vague blotches. Doesn't bother me though, kind of interesting actually and just glad to get it in orange and not some dull "mens" color.
The description says underarm panels are synthetic insulation. I was a little disappointed to learn that the ENTIRE under arm portion of the jacket uses synthetic insulation, meaning from the underside of the wrist stretching all the way to the pits and continuing from the armpits to the waist. So basically the down filled part of the jacket is the tops of the arms, the shoulders, collar, chest and back. I'm guessing that wet from sweat down does not insulate as well as synthetic.. though I would have preferred a wool type insulation/material to combat odor, because once synthetic stinks it always stinks. Unless you have an alluring musk like me.

Wicked bad ace Stoic design -
All the zippers are sewn into the jacket inside out/backwards. At first I thought something had gone wrong at the "made in China" factory but then realized all the zippers on the pockets are inside out as well...cool.
Nice long sleeves, no shrinking on arm extension.
Hand warmer microfiber material on all pockets.
2 inside pockets (perfect for sneaking drinks and food into theaters; )

I'd been passively searching for a tech/rain jacket I could use for backpacking and snowboarding for over 2 months for under $150. I was about to settle for some Smarmot rain jacket with taped seams and no lifetime warranty, then I found Stoic (never heard of the brand but didn't hesitate once I learned its made by backcountry.com).

Ordered a small (I'm 5'7" @ 135lbs), got it the other day and I'm pumped. The fit is exactly what one wants, not baggy like some teenage fashion whim, roomy where there needs to be room for essential layering (ie the arm pits where a couple layers will add bulk) and the construction is SOLID.

I'm stoked to test it in nasty weather, though backed by a lifetime guarantee and since its made by backcountry I'm not worried at all.

I especially like the high neck/chin guard and the wrist gaitors.

If I could make a couple suggestions...
I'd move the hand pockets a little higher so one can access them while wearing a pack.
I'd look for a lighter material if possible
and offer one more bright color, like orange.

All in all...
Awesomely incredible jacket Stoic/backcountry.com. Arcteryx quality at half the price. I've gotten many complements even from fashionista girls who think outdoorsy people have no taste.
