La Sportiva Wildcat Trail Running Shoe - Men's

La Sportiva Wildcat Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 April 2, 2010

Picked up this shoe and first run out the box was 15 mile trailrun. This shoe feels very similar to some road shoes, Ascis Nimbus, Mizuno Waver Rider. It has good cushion, protection with the toe bumper up front, and it's comfortable. If you are familiar with La Sportiva this shoe is higher volume than the Fireblade and has more room in the toe box for what it's worth.

Icebreaker SuperFine 150 Tech Lite Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Icebreaker SuperFine 150 Tech Lite Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 2, 2010

This shirt is great. I was hesitant about spending the $$$ on tee, but it's a performance tee. Did back to back runs of 14 and 15 iles and the shirt didn't have any odor. The shirt performed well in temperature range of 50 to 80 degreees. Haven't tested in the Texas heat yet, but it's definitely worth the money. A few of these is all you need.

The North Face Free Thinker Pant - Men's

The North Face Free Thinker Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 22, 2010

Wanted these pants for sometime, been fortunate to put some good time in them in various condtions. The pants performed well in cold and high winds with the 3x gore-tex performing great, the same in dumping snow, and in the warm spring days. The add on suspenders and bib function is great for helping to protect when getting in the powder. The pants are very durable when getting brushed up against trees, etc. The drop out seat is way cool. Although pricey, they should be a pant that will be with you for as long as you like. One thing on the sizing is that the pants tend to seem a little short in the stride. I normally wear a L and the L has worked for me.

SmartWool PhD Running Light Micro Sock

What can I say! It's smartwool!! I've had the socks in water, mud, hot, cold...you name it. The socks rock for a running sock. They hold well in all conditions, wick moisture away, comfortable, and durable. Definitely need to try in you haven't.

La Sportiva Fireblades

La Sportiva Fireblade Trail Running Shoe - Men's

La Sportiva Fireblade Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 22, 2010

I'm new to the fireblades put in some good miles on them both on and off trail. The shoe is minimal and efficient. It tends to run small and narrow compared to other shoes that I've tried, so go larger. The shoe has been great for both the trail and getting out on the road. The sleeve over the lower laces is great on keeping debris out of the shoe. The toe bumper is solid to protect against the ocassional kicked rock. The sole provides plenty of proctection on the trail. Know going into the purchase that the shoe is just what I've described. If you are looking for a cushy ride this isn't the shoe. If you are looking for an efficient shoe for most any terrain then this is it. My only drawback on the shoe is that it runs a bit narrow, but it's nothing to knock the shoe.
