I am trying to save some money and i hope these pants can replace two old pants that I own now. A lightweight backpacking rain pant and a ski pant.

1) ski pants..i think these will do that well

2) wet backpacking, dec/january in CA with temps between 34-58. I worry that these will be too warm.

Anyone own these that can tell me about i.

broken twice

Katadyn Hiker Water Microfilter

I have had two of these and they have both broken in the backcountry.

Not much else to say. the first one had a pump issue. The second one broke when i pulled off the hose. I was surprised to look down and see the plastic nipple had ripped off as well.

Its a shame bc its a simple system for a good price. 4 days of boiling water sucks though....

I bought this tent a few months ago and it is amazing. But...it takes up a large amount of room in my pack. Is it possible to use a compression sact for the footprint, fly and tent body without damaging or causing wear to the tent? If so what sack do you recomend?
