Nice set

Snow Peak Trek 1400 Titanium Cookset

Snow Peak Trek 1400 Titanium Cookset

Rating for this product: 4 May 29, 2010

It is very nice to be able to carry a decent size pot that weighs so little. Cooks very evenly and cools down very quick when done. My chief complaint though is how loose the lid fits onto the pot and the stuff sack is too big. You really need to carry a couple of rubber bands to keep the lid secure when packing it in.

All you need

Backcountry.com Titanium Spork

Backcountry.com Titanium Spork

Rating for this product: 5 May 29, 2010

This it the only utensil you need for cooking / eating. Strong enough to cut with just the right length to eat out of a bag or stir in a pot. And not to mention is just pretty damn cool.

Great Pack

ALPS Mountaineering Denali Backpack - 4500cu in

Rating for this product: 5 May 29, 2010

Love this pack. The included rain cover is great as well as the detachable top to be used as a fanny pack for day hikes. Two features you just don't expect but come in really handy. Plenty of room to pack several days of gear and supplies in this pack and carry comfortably.

One word of warning. Alps sells the belts in M, L, XL. The pack i purchased here had an L belt that is supposed to fit up to a 38 waist. It will just barely fit me ( I wear 38 pants ). I ordered a replacement belt from ALPS for $20.

Great shorts.

Columbia Omni-Dry Silver Ridge II Cargo Short - Men's

Columbia Omni-Dry Silver Ridge II Cargo Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 29, 2010

I absolutely love these shorts. They roll up very compact. Do not hold dirt and dry very quickly. The pockets are great on these and the zipper closure on one of the back pocket is key for wallet security ( My buddy lost his wallet with velcro closures in the backcountry.. I felt secure knowing there was no way for mine to get out ). I wear a 38 and have big legs so usually have trouble getting a good fit in shorts but the XL (40-42) fit great.

Mehhh

AlpineAire Bandito Scramble

AlpineAire Bandito Scramble

Rating for this product: 2 May 29, 2010

I was really looking forward to this. I carried around 1lb of tortillas for a couple of days even just to have breakfast burritos. But this tasted really bad. I think the biggest thing is it has carrots sliced up in it and just really tasted out of place. If I was really hungry I would eat again. I ended up burning the majority of this up in a fire.

I love it

Brunton Raptor Stove

Brunton Raptor Stove

Rating for this product: 5 March 25, 2010

Great little stove. Amazing how compact it is. The design of the folding legs is really impressive and lends itself to homeade windscreen making which I will post pics of as soon as I get it done :)

Took it outside as soon as I got it and boiled a quart of water right at 4 min as advertised ( there was a slight breeze).

The optionl can stand from Brunton is worth the extra $$ IMO.

Nice shoe but not for me

Merrell Moab GTX XCR Shoe - Men's

Merrell Moab GTX XCR Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 25, 2010

I really liked these shoes and I wore them around the house for a couple weeks trying to convince myself they fit well. The big toe on one foot really felt like it was taking a beating in the toe box. I finally convinced myself they were just not going to feel right and returned them. Other than that the suppoet felt great in them. I wish they would have worked out for me.
