POE has more padding, the web is sewn back to the seam for extra durability, and the fabric has a DWR coating so that it will nor soak up water. Good DEAL!

I recommend at Peak Oyl LIght for hammock sleeping , it packs small, reduces heat loss from breezes underneath, and cradles you in the middle.

Pacific Outdoor Equipment Ether Compact 9 Sleeping Pad

March 4, 2010

Tube pads do cannot receive an r-value measurement because this is taken on a flat 12 in x 12 plate. the relative r-value of a un-insulated airtube mat is R-2. Nevertheless, the pad will be comfy at all temps. If you have the right sleeping bag for the environment, because it is part of sleep system, you will be comfortable to 40 deg F, and then after that it is recommended that you use more insulation. Check out the THERMO version of this ETHER pad as it will keep you warm well into the 30's F.
