great pack

The North Face Terra 40 Backpack - 2450cu in

The North Face Terra 40 Backpack - 2450cu in

Rating for this product: 5 March 28, 2010

This has been a great pack for me. I was looking for an intermediate size pack, and I couldn't be happier Holds a fair amount of gear, but it's best attribute is comfort. The shoulder and hip straps are well padded, and the pack distributes weight very well. It's a top loader pack, so you often have to dig everything out to get what you after, but the pack's top has storage for either delicate items, or things you need to get to quickly. There is a zippered compartment made of a real stretchy material for other small quick access items, and the bottom zippered compartment for sleeping bag storage are very helpful. When you are not hauling a large load, the pack cinches down and works well as a day pack or summit pack. In fact, it has pretty much replaced my daypack!
