Rossignol B-Squad Pro 130 Ski Boot - Men's

August 21, 2009

I wear a size 13 street shoe and I normally wear a 29.5 (11.5) boot. I just received these boots and they seem to be a shade shorter than my previous Bandit B1 Carbon (05/06) model. (Although, I believe I had that boot stretched a bit.) If you want a "performance fit" you migh want to go down to a 28.0. If you are comfortable in a 28.5 and want more of a comfort fit then get that boot. The one thing I will say about this boot is that it is extremely stiff out of the box on a warm summers day and will only stiffen up more on a cold winter day. If you are not an aggressive skier you might want to consider the 110 version so you can flex your ankles and turn your boards. Boot fitting is not an exact science so if you find something that works go with it. This is a great boot and an unbelieveable price right now. It might be the 08/09 version but Rossi has not changed the boot one bit this year for the 09/10 season.

Lots of Toe Bang

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 May 8, 2009

Fist off the XCR rocks. You can dunk you foot in water up to your ankle and the inside of the shoe remains dry. The tread is good for river beds and ascending boulders, however it does tend to slip on dry dusty decents and scree. The lacing system provides a secure sung fit however does not allow to tie the shoe with a heal lock. I personally have experienced a lot of toe bang and feel that the box is too narrow and too ridgid. My foot is fairly large(13US) but relatively normal arch and width. Overall its a decent shoe just might not be the right shoe for people with larger feet.
