Petzl Simba Full Body Harness - Kids'

May 28, 2011

My five year old, Johnny, pulling plastic 60 feet up in Waegwan South Korea. On his second ascent in 10 minutes, he called "falling", caught the wall while being belayed down just so that he could see if he could climb faster than a full grown man. He would not be able to do it if he hadn't learned to trust his gear. He's been using this harness for about six months.

Mammut Smart Belay Device

Mammut Smart Belay Device

Rating for this product: 5 June 11, 2011

I've had it for a couple of months, it caught me on my first screamer. It worked, and my back wasn't sore. It doesn't feed as fast as an ATC or Figure 8 on lead climbing, but is awesome for Top rope. My wife refuses to use anything else.

Mad Rock Con-tact Climbing Shoe - Men's

Mad Rock Con-tact Climbing Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 11, 2011

I've been climbing with these for months, and I love them. They're my first pair of shoes so maybe I just don't know any better. The only problem is that I have had them slip off on a heel hook, but only once and I did take the strap off. They tend to rub a little at the the Achilles's after long use.

I usually wear a 9 1/2 street shoe, I wear an 11 in these and my toes are only slightly pinched.
