Arc'teryx Stinger Jacket - Men's

January 5, 2011

I am 6'4", 175 lbs. (tall and skinny, with long arms). Ideally I like to get a Medium-Tall size, but obviously that's not often a choice. Should I get a M or L?

Voile Switchback Telemark Ski Binding

February 4, 2010

Thanks, Jack. You've been very helpful! I'm probably going to go with the Switchbacks, as the Axls aren't readily available -- Backcountry.com is out of stock, and even 22 Design is all out (I called today). But I like the idea of the lighter Switchback anyway, for easier touring. Last question: what skins do you recommend? I'm looking at G3 and Voile.

Voile Switchback Telemark Ski Binding

February 3, 2010

I'm about to invest in Voile Insane skis that I'll use with my T2X boots on both backcountry and groomers. Would you recommend the Switchbacks? I like the light weight and price, but I'm concerned they won't be strong enough for on-piste skiing, so I'm also considering the G3 Ascent and Axl bindings. Thoughts?

Voile Insane Ski

February 2, 2010

I'm looking to upgrade from my old K2 Totally Piste (190 cm.) to something wider and better for the backcountry (but still decent on groomers). I'm considering the Insanes but also the BD Verdicts. What do you think? Also, I'm 6'4" and 176 lbs. -- what size would be good -- 183 cm.? And would my T2X boots be good with these skis? I'm also leaning toward G3 Targa Ascent bindings -- good idea?

Black Diamond Havoc Ski

January 31, 2010

I'm looking to upgrade from my old skinny K2 Totally Piste (I know, old school) and am considering either the BD Havoc or Verdict. I'd like a good all-around ski that will be good in backcountry powder but still decent on-piste too. Thoughts? The Verdict looks like it might be a bit heavy for touring. Also, I'd like to keep using my Scarpa T2X boots -- would they be big/stiff enough to drive the Verdict, or would the Havoc be a bitter fit with that boot? Thanks for any help....
