Therm-a-Rest Dream Time Sleeping Pad

Therm-a-Rest Dream Time Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 5 April 26, 2010

My little ones (3 and 4) really enjoy camping so we ended up buying an air mattress which lasted maybe two trips. On top of that, I didn't find it comfortable at all. I decided to bite the bullet and spring for two dream times. This was the best decision I ever made. I am beyond impressed with how comfortable this pad is. Please keep in mind that this baby is heavy (over six pounds). It is ONLY for car camping but it would also be great for guests at your house. I'm not kidding. Its better than a couch. On top of the pad is a layer of tempurpedic material and then a very soft cover that even zips off for washing. I bought the the XL model and plan on buying one more regular size as our tent can accomodate it in the sleeping side. If you are only an occasional camper, the price point may be a bit ridiculous but our kids have enjoyed camping so much that it was a worthwhile investment. Plus they can be used for kid's sleepovers, out of town guests, etc... I really think we will get a lot of use out of them. Also, please note you will NOT get them back in their original packing sack. They were compressed unbelievably tight. We plan on putting them behind a dresser.

Ortovox Haute Route 35 Pack

Ortovox Haute Route 35 Pack

Rating for this product: 5 February 23, 2010

This is my first time buying an Ortovox product and I am very impressed. So far it appears to be the most well built pack I have ever owned. The zipper to access the main chamber on the back of the pack is hard to open but I'll live. The other zippers are a little difficult as well but that is because they all have weatherproof seals which really impressed me. Just so people know my purpose for the pack; I have two young kids who will bug me for snacks, a drink, etc... when out on the slopes and this pack is just large enough to hold those necesseties without being encumbered by some huge pack. Plus, I like being able to throw my skis on the pack if my walk to the lifts is long. Very easy to slip my skis in and out of the pack.
