Comfortable, but not very breathable

KEEN Newport Sandal - Women's

KEEN Newport Sandal - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 September 5, 2006

I loved my Keen Newports when wearing them with socks, but when I started wearing them barefoot, they made my feet sweaty and stinky. I had never had problems with stinky feet until I started wearing these. I put odor-eaters insoles in them, and that took care of the smell, but my feet still feel warm and moist whenever I wear them, especially in the toe area. Aside from holding warmth and moisture, they are very comfortable, and I love the toe protection. I just wish they were more breathable.

Tough, versatile, and comfy

The North Face Meridian Convertible Pant - Women's

The North Face Meridian Convertible Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 May 24, 2006

I chose to buy these pants mainly because they come in a long inseam. I'm tall, and most pants are too short for me, but these are just the right length. They have a higher waist than most other pants I've tried - it hits right at my natural waist line (if you want a lower cut waist, try the North Face Paramount pants). The fabric has a light, airy, comfortable feel, but it makes a bit of a swishy sound when I walk, and it attracts lint and cat hair. I really appreciate the ability to roll these pants up to mid-calf length - they are so cute as capris! The zip-off feature is nice too, and I like that the zippers are labeled left and right so it's easier to get the legs back on. I wore them to the beach and accidentally sat in some sticky tar. I thought for sure that the pants were ruined! I used Goo Gone and a scrub brush to get the tar out. After several brisk scrubbings, and about 8 consecutive washings with hot water, I was afraid the area I had scrubbed would look more worn than the rest of the pants, or else the pants would just completely fall apart. But to my surprise, the pants survived the ordeal and still look new. If you saw them now, you would never know what I put them through. I'm very impressed! Overall, I'm really happy with these pants, and will probably buy a second pair in a different color.

Great pair of summer pants!

The North Face Paramount Highland Capri - Women's

The North Face Paramount Highland Capri - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 May 24, 2006

I love these pants. They are cute, comfortable, and functional. I have worn them to the office several times, and my male coworkers, who don't normally pay attention to fashion, have repeatedly commented about how cool they are. I have also worn them in the yard while gardening, and to the beach. Very versatile. I got soaked in a rain storm last week, and the pants dried very quickly while I was still wearing them. They never felt heavy and cold like cotton pants do when they get wet. The nylon material feels a bit thicker than in The North Face Meridian Pants, and doesn't seem to collect as much lint or cat hair. Also, the waist in these pants is a bit lower cut than the Meridian. I'm really happy that I bought these pants!
