Excellent Jacket

Norrøna Narvik Gore-Tex Comfort Shell 3L Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 11, 2012

Picked this jacket up mainly for in bounds skiing. Also, looking forward to being able to use it throughout the year because of it's versatility. Shell is extremely well made and finish is top notch. I picked up the Blue Berry color and love it! It's a perfect fit for using with just a base layer under it or going with multiple heavier layers for colder days. The cut is slightly "looser" than the Narvik 2L jacket as it goes past you mid section to the bottom of the jacket. I've only used it skiing once so far but it performed flawlessly. I'm 6'1" about 205lbs - Chest measures 43.5 and waist is about 35 or 36 in jeans. I picked up an XL and it fits excellent throughout. I couldn't go smaller because the jacket would be too tight in the shoulders and chest. Pics posted to show general fit and color when being worn. Also there is an interior zip pocket and the pockets built in to the chest vents do have a separate zipper to hold you're valuables in if the chest vents are open. (left chest vent pocket does have the lens wipe attached in it)

Nice Jacket, Fit just a tad off for me

Norrøna Narvik Gore-Tex Performance Shell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 11, 2012

I picked up this jacket and the Narvik 3L pro shell to compare. This is a very nicely made jacket if the fit is right for you. I'm mainly using the jacket for in-bounds skiing but looking for it to have the versatility to use in other parts of the year. I'm 6'1" about 205lbs. Chest measures 43.5 and waist size for jeans is usually 35 or 36. I ordered the Waterfall Blue in an XL and it fit pretty well. I couldn't go a size down because of the shoulder width/chest width of the jacket. My only grip with the fit was in the waist area it was still pretty slim and although it fit wasn't as free / comfortable as the Narvik 3L for me. Pics attached to get an idea of fit and look when worn (i've found it's been tough to figure that part out being there's not a ton of reviews or pics up yet for Norrona stuff).

Quality Pant - Great Fit

The North Face Mountain Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 12, 2011

I was looking for a pant that was nicely fitted ... not baggy. These pants fit great, enough room that they are very comfortable without being restricting in any way. The suspenders are a great addition because not only do they hold them up in place but the waist sits higher and keeps me warmer. (now all my baselayers fit tucked into these vs not in a traditional waist pant) I skied in power the first day and hard pack the second day in about 1 degree weather on the east coast and these kept me plenty warm and the gaiters kept all snow/moisture out. I would highly recommend to anyone considering. I am 6'1 about 210lbs and the XL fits great.

Smith i/o .. fog free , perfect vision

Smith I/O Interchangeable Optics Spherical Series Goggles

Rating for this product: 5 January 15, 2010

I've had a problem in the past with ski goggles b/c they always seemed to fog. These really don't fog at all and have amazing peripheral vision. If you don't mind spending a bit more you will get what you pay for. Lens changing is super easy and these are by far the most comfortable goggle I've ever worn. Fit and work seamlessly with Smith Maze Helmet!

Hestra Heli 3-Finger Glove

Hestra Heli 3-Finger Glove

Rating for this product: 5 January 10, 2010

I bought these gloves for my wife and I b/c they were recommended by the backcountry team to get the warmth of a mitten and flexability of a glove. We used them this weekend skiing on Whiteface in Lake Placid where the temperature was dipping to -5 below and our hands were warm the entire time. I would recommend these to anyone whose hands tend to get cold and really want a glove that will keep them warm! Easy to get on and off and can't drop them with the elastic straps!
