Columbia Security Check Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

March 31, 2010

Hi. I wear M size on North Face summer shirts (but are on the edge of being too small) and an L on most other brands.
Would an M be OK of this model (since some say it runs big) or better order an L?
I'm ordering from overseas so I need to be shure...
Thank you

Marmot Minimalist Jacket - Men's

January 20, 2010

thank you very much for your help.
I know it is packlite but it looks like having a rubbery finish wich would be more silent, can anyone confirm this?

Marmot Minimalist Jacket - Men's

January 18, 2010

Is this jacket silent?
It looks sort of rubbery wich should be more silent than normal shells, but I need to check.

BTOH, would this be apropiate as a shell over a TNF Pamir windstoper jacket at 30 to 50 F?
(I assume the Minimalist is windproof too, not just waterproof)

Thank you

SmartWool NTS Midweight Crew - Long-Sleeve - Men's

January 12, 2010

Under the shoulder (axiles) it is very tight?
Wich one is looser under the shoulders, the "Midweight" or the "NTS Midweight"?
(they have the seams different around shoulders)
Thank you

P.S. not shure about wich is the one in this page since the picture is for a NTS. Please Backcountry clarify. Thank you

Columbia Ballistic II Windproof Fleece Vest - Men's

January 11, 2010

- How does it compare to the TNF Apex Bionic Vest in terms of warmth?
- It is really windproof to a decent degree?
- Does it follow the usual Titanium fit or it runs larger or smaller?
Thank you

Patagonia R2 Fleece Vest - Men's

January 8, 2010

I'm 42'' chest and 38-39'' waist. TNF short sleeve shirts in M are fine but almost too tight on the chest.
So, will an L size of the R2 vest be OK over either a short sleeve shirt or a midweight long sleeve shirt?
I need freedom of movement so I can have one or two arms up (holdig a microphone on a boom pole)
Thank you

SmartWool NTS Midweight Boot Top Bottom - Men's

January 8, 2010

Is this tight as the tech synthetic bottoms?
I'm looking for something that it's not tight or snuggly but not too loose so you can wear it comfortably under cargo/walking/street trousers and I like that they don't go all the way down.
I wear 38-39 waist trousers

SmartWool NTS Midweight Crew - Long-Sleeve - Men's

January 8, 2010

Is there something equivalent from Smartwool in midweight or lightweight but short sleeved?
As baselayer in cold weather, when a long sleeve is too much but you still need something... not shure if their "T-Shirt" is just a casual tshirt or the short sleeved version of the mid or light weight longsleeves.

The North Face Denali Wind Pro Fleece Jacket - Men's

The North Face Denali Wind Pro Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 8, 2010

Light and comfortable but imho still has too much cloth in it as the reg. Denali. I normally wear a TNF L for jackets and this one seem too large (too long and too ample sleeves and shoulders a bit too wide) but I'm affraid the M will have the collar too short and that's important for me.Chest has good fit but could be tighter so maybe an M would be better for me (I'm 178cm = 5.84' / chest: 41-42'' / waist: 34-36'')You better try it first or be shure you can exchange the size if you need to.

isolates, but deceiving thin and short collar

The North Face Redpoint Insulated Jacket - Men's

The North Face Redpoint Insulated Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 January 7, 2010

Good isolator material and good fit but the lack of lining in the collar as well as collar's short length was very deceiving. I also miss adjustable cuffs or something more rugged than a small band of elastic material.

The North Face Scythe Fleece Jacket - Men's

December 29, 2009

Hi. Always under a shell (I have a TNF Decagon jacket) how does it compare in terms of warmth with the Patagonia R4?
The application would be 90% static and 10% active (so no climbing, etc)
Thank you
