The material on the jacket does seem thin and I was not brave enough to test its limits myself ... But the stuff sack is made of the same material and it seems very tough ... tougher than you would think ... Its packs up nicely

This size is perfect for loading up on water at the base camp (cooking, cleaning, etc) or drinking on the trail ... Its a good size if thats what you are looking for but I'd rather have two 1Liter bottles, but that was looking a little expensive.

I ordered both the Large and the Medium in this jacket and WITHOUT A DOUBT you should size up if you are 'in between' ...

If you still have doubts, you may want to call a reputable outdoors store (doesn't have to be near you) and get their opinion also.

The Large I have fits about like my medium Patagonia, ArcTeryx, North Face ... etc

***Reason I bought It
I have never been a fan of stuffing a bunch of pillows in a stuff sack and using it as a pillow. I know that it is the backcountry and a night of sleep out there is not going to be perfect, but a good pillow will go a long way for me.

***Weight
The weight is good. For me I can justify it because I use it with the therm-a-rest z-lite so I can spare a few more ounces in my sleep system.

***Price
I think it is worth it, but if you can find it for about $15 it would be a great value.

***Build Quality
This thing really feels solid. The one way valve is amazing. You just breath almost once into it and it is inflated and the valve locks it off so that air does not escape it. Then, you just push the button and in a split second its deflated. This is an awesome design. It feels solid like it is going to last a long time.

***Sleeping
My intent was not to sit upright and sleep - I wanted to lay down and sleep. When I bought this I had no idea if it was going to work for that. Basically what I do is have it about halfway inflated and put it slightly around my neck at an angle more like a traditional pillow. It works great.

***Fit
This hat has a nice fit because of the way the material is cut. It is not shallow on me, which is something I look for in a baseball hat. If you need a very deep feel, this may not be the cap, but it is not shallow either. My head is a medium in size and it fits great.

***Material
The reason I got this cap is because it is so light. I wanted something that wasn't going to weigh me or my pack down and this is perfect. It also doesn't soak up and hold moisture. It is super light, but you can adjust the tightness if you are on a summit and don't want it to blow off. There is some moisture absorbing material on the inside of the cap to keep the sweat out of your eyes.

***Color
I got the black but it is extremely hot in the sun. I would not recommend this color for warm weather.

Hey I am 6' and 175 and I actually ordered both the medium and the large and I tried them both on ... WITHOUT A DOUBT GET THE LARGE

The medium was way too snug on the torso, and I wasn't even layering.

These MontBell jackets just run a little smaller, so if in doubt DEFINITELY SIZE UP. Also my arms are long and the medium was a little short on my arms.

Pictures make this jacket look like it may be big, but it is really just because it is so puffy.

***Is it worth it?
Honestly, if you are going on a hiking trip and are looking to go light, this shouldn't be your first pick. You can take a couple of 1 Liter aquafina bottles are you are good to go.
But if you just like day hiking, then you know how annoying it is to carry around a water bottle after you have finished drinking from it. With this, you can just slip the Platypus in your pocket when you are done with it!

***Why you should get it
The best thing about this is how you can roll it up super small. You can throw this in your pack for minimal weight added ... Then when you arrive to your base camp you can go to the creek ONCE and get a ton of water for cleaning, cooking, drinking, sharing, etc.

***Durability
The material seems pretty durable and the screw cap seems like a solid fit, so I am expecting this thing to last several years with regular use.

***Price
Honestly I cannot understand the price of these things. I understand how a Nalgene bottle or a stainless steel water bottle can be expensive, but I have no idea how they can charge so much for what seems like inexpensive material. There is nothing incredibly innovative about it either. Its just a plastic bag for holding water. Anyways, I would have bought it again despite the price.

***Bottom Line
These things are pretty cool and there is really nothing like them out there, so pony up the money and get one!

What Size Should You Get?

This is a really great jacket if you are looking something that is super light ... and REALLY warm ...

***PRICE***
You are really paying for the lightness because you can get the quality and warmth elsewhere for cheaper but it is going to cost you in weight. Educate yourself on down "fill power" before you buy and its advantages / disadvantages over synthetics.

***COLOR***
The color of this item is very deceiving in a lot of pictures so make sure you do a search on google for "montbell sunrise red" and look at the color to make sure you like it ... I love the color but it is NOT red ... It is kinda a red version of burnt orange or something

***QUALITY***
The shell of this jacket is VERY thin so do not get this if you plan to put extreme wear on it ... I'm sure its lifetime is very long but I wouldnt test it too hard.

***SIZING***
I am 6ft 170lbs with extra long arms and bought the medium and the large ... The medium was a little short on the arms (a normal occurrence for me) and very tight on the torso when zipped. It was a no brainer to go with the large ... these jackets run small so order up a size if you are 'in between' ... I can actually wear a medium in a lot of jackets (arc teryx soft shell is medium and a perfect fit)

***OTHER QUESTIONS***I read a lot about this jacket before I bought it and here is some additional information that people seemed to be missing:
The black area is a little thicker and more durable material.
Yes there is down in the black areas too.
