Pentax Optio WG-1 GPS Kit Digital Camera
September 9, 2011
Manny, The specifications listed on the official Pentax website's page for this camera say nothing about RAW format- so I would say that's a "no".

This tent is NOT freestanding. You must stake it... or it's just a ground cloth with poles. lol

Nikwax BaseWash
May 25, 2011
This is a 10 ounce bottle. Yes the label does say "This bottle is enough to wash up to 60 garments". BUT... that depends on the size of the wash load. According to the instuctions printed on the label; 3.5 ounces for a small load/low water level, and 5 ounces for regular load/medium water level... means that you will get 2 or 3 loads out of this bottle (for a top loading machine).
As for spot cleaning, it says to use undiluted to treat stubborn stains before washing.
The instuctions don't mention anything about soaking, especially overnight.

Black Diamond Trail Ergo Cork Trekking Pole
May 7, 2011
First of all- never buy "twist lock" poles. Ever.
Justin, the major differences in "cheap" poles and expensive poles are:
-Price (obviously)
-Weight
-Features
-Durability (regardless of the warranty)
-Name (face it- you pay more for "name brand")
I have several pair of the "cheap" poles , and have used them for a couple of years- with no serious problems- everywhere from Big South Fork to Springer Mountain to my local state parks.
I am currently looking at buying a pair of the more expensive poles for the following reasons:
1) Weight savings.
2) Features (cheap poles have cheap straps; cheap poles don't have the ergonomic grips, and the expensive poles have better grips that feel better in your hand, and don't slip when sweaty)
Hope this helps!

Columbia Benton Springs Fleece Jacket - Girls'
May 8, 2010
My daughter just turned 10, and is short/petite for her age. She normally wears around a size 8(depending on the brand). I got her this jacket for Christmas in the "7/8" size, and it fits perfectly. It is snug enough to wear by itself, but loose enough to wear layers underneath. I hope this helps :-)

Columbia Benton Springs Fleece Jacket - Girls'
May 8, 2010
Hannah, as with anything else, that depends on a number of things- the temperature, how hot/cold natured you are, what kind of layers you wear, how active you are, etc. Generally, I would say that this jacket is fine- by itself- for COOL weather, but not COLD. If you wear layers underneath it, or you are being active while wearing it(i.e. hiking, backpacking, sports, etc.), then you could get away with wearing it by itself in just about any weather. But keep in mind that this jacket is NOT waterproof or windproof. My daughter has this jacket, and has been wearing it for just about every minute that she is outdoors ever since Christmas. She generally wears one, and sometimes two, shirts underneath the jacket and has never complained about being cold(we live in Middle TN). I hope this helps :-)

Vasque Breeze WP Hiking Boot - Boys'
January 20, 2010
Try using moisture-wicking "liner" socks against the skin, and then wool-blend "hiker" socks over the liner socks. Doing this will require the boots to be one-half to one size larger than you normally wear. This worked for my daughter and I. I hope this helps :-)

Vasque Breeze WP Hiking Boot - Boys'
January 20, 2010
A "lug sole" would be anything that has an aggressive sole. Generally, the more aggressive the sole, the more traction. My 9-yr old daughter has a pair of these, and has used them for a couple of hiking trips. She likes them. They don't hurt her feet, she isn't slipping and/or sliding on wet/muddy trails, and as long as the water doesn't get higher than the 'collar'(of the boot) then her feet have stayed dry. No complaints from her equals no complaints from me! I hope this helps :-)

The North Face Meridian Convertible Pant - Girls'
January 20, 2010
It depends on what your definition of "cold weather" is. Generally, I would say "no". The pants are 100% nylon, and very thin. I would not think of letting my daughter wear them WITHOUT something underneath in temps below say 40 to 45 degrees F. I hope that helps :-)
