The North Face Triple C Down Jacket - Women's

The North Face Triple C Down Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2010

Purchased for the wife. I've personally seen her be complimented on the look/style of the jacket by other women 3 times already. Every thinks it looks great and asks if it is really warm enough being that its not big and puffy like the usual down coats. She says its like being wrapped in sleeping bags yet light and comfy to wear everyday. Its warm and blocks wind well. She was standing outside chatting with some people in 28 degrees until someone else said "its freezing lets go inside". She commented to me that she didnt even notice the cold and wondered why everyone else thought it was chilly. As a TNF fan, I suggest this coat for women who want warmth and some style. Its a good looking coat and it does what its supposed to do. Keep you warm without feeling as if you're wearing a canvas tarp.

The North Face Greenland Zip Boot - Women's

The North Face Greenland Zip Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2010

Got these for the mrs. she's from california and has complained for a year about the north east cold. she's in love with them since day one. Says they keep her feet warm in the coldest condtions and have yet to allow a drop of water inside during rain or snow. She's only 95lbs and says they are a little heavy to wear all the time but for a regular size person i'm doubting the weight to be noticable. From her comments I say they were an excellent choice thus far.

The North Face Metropolis Down Parka - Women's

January 2, 2010

I bought my girlfriend the Triple C parka this year for christmas. I figured it would be very warm for her to use daily. In NY temps are not that bad. 30-40 average. She loves the look of the Triple c but has complained that its not that warm. I told her she's nuts. Its too small for me to try on my own but does anyone know if this coat would be warmer?
I was surprised to hear her say hers was not warm but I guess its possible. I want to get her something that she stays warm in daily. Shes from The west coast and isnt used to the NE winters. For the money I figured TripC was the one but maybe this is better.
And I'm looking for a longer style coat such as these. Opinions are appreciated.

warm but not waterproof

The North Face Montana Glove - Men's

The North Face Montana Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 December 31, 2009

I am a huge TNF fan. I have plenty of their products. So I can say without hesitation that these glove are great for less than one season. Last year I was impressed by them. I took care of them exactly as instructed. This year after the first minor snowfall I wore them and could not belive that my hands were soaked after only about an hour of wear during light powder condtions.I've already ordered Dakine gloves that are supposed to be waterproof because these are now hangin on my mantle drying out. I'm very disappointed with these gloves for the price I expected more. They are warm until they are introduced to snow. After that they get wet and then its over. If you are looking for someting that is truly waterproof these are not for you.
