Use your real name to add some legitimacy to your content. Real names mean real community, and real community means real knowledge. Gear Gurus who use their real names get bumped up 1.5x for each contribution - you deserve the credit. For more info check out the Help Center.

This is how you compare to all the other Gear Gurus on Backcountry.com. You earn one point for each list / review / question / answer / gear photo / comments / votes you contribute. You gain an extra point every time someone gives one of your contributions a thumbs up, but you lose a point for every thumbs down. La Sportiva Hi5 Alpine Touring Ski

November 9, 2011

Still looking at skis, now the Hi5 seems to be what I want. What length?

Me:
5'8", 145lbs
70% Backcountry / 30% Resort
I tour mostly in Washington State, like charging hard in both big snow and dropping into steep technical terrain

K2 SideStash Ski

November 6, 2011

What length for the K2 Sidestash should I buy?

Me:
5'8", 145lbs
Plan on using 70% Backcountry / 30% Resort
I skiied for the first 9 years of my life; have been snowboarding aggressively for the last 22 years. I BC splitboard on an alpine AT hard boot/plate setup; my foray back into skiing has shown me that I will not have any trouble being aggressive on skis.
