2L Works Well With The Ruffwear "Palisades" Dog Pack

MSR Dromedary Bags

MSR Dromedary Bags

Rating for this product: 5 June 10, 2010

I just wanted to make a note about this, in case someone else packs with their dog(s). I use the Ruffwear "Palisades" Dog Pack with our dogs and the water bladder that came with it is not great. I replaced those water bladders with two of the 2L MSR Dromedary water bladders and they fit great in the dog pack, works great too.

I hope this helps someone. :o)

Best Dog Pack On The Market!

Ruffwear Palisades Dog Pack

Rating for this product: 4 June 10, 2010

I have several of these packs for my different sized trail dogs, we swear by them. We use the harness to secure them in the car (or bed of the truck) via a tether and we use the pack to carry their food, first aid kit, and water. The pack really works nice, and the compression straps on each side helps keep the pack tight and as close to the body as possible.

The fact that the pack is removable from the harness, and the harness by itself is worth the price of the upgrade from their other pack, I think this pack is a no-brainer over their other less expensive pack.

I rated it 4 stars only because I think the water bladders are useless - the material they are made out of leaks very easily and will crack if you use them in near freezing temps. I removed all of them from the packs we own and replaced them with the 2L MSR "Dromedary" Bags which fit perfectly.

Ruffwear is a great company, I really like their stuff.

Great jacket - warm and waterproof.

Arc'teryx Fission AR Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Fission AR Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 28, 2006

This Jacket is VERY warm and comfortable - I am very pleased with it. I live in ATL and it's perfect for those rainy & windy 33 degree days [very waterproof] - but it also worked great in CO in snowy conditions with the temps in the teens. My only 2 complaints are the hood/collar combo makes the collar stick up in your face a bit and the material is a little loud when moving around. A removable hood would be great.

66° North makes top-notch gear!

66 North Iceland Eldgja Jacket - Men's

66 North Iceland Eldgja Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 28, 2006

I have a few 66° North jackets and have never been let down by them. This jacket, in particular, is my favorite... it fits well and is very warm and breathable. This jacket is comparable to TNF Apex Thermal Jacket - if you are shopping for that type of jacket I highly recommend you consider this jacket. Keep in mind that the jacket is based on Euro sizes so it runs a little smaller. I wear a small in TNF, Arc'teryx, Marmot, etc. I purchased a small in this jacket. While it fits me fine [the smalls in other brands tend to be big on me] - it is smaller than the other manufacturers. If you are borderline medium/small in other brands go with a medium in this brand.
