Dynafit Speedskins

Dynafit FT Manaslu Speedskin

Dynafit FT Manaslu Speedskin

Rating for this product: 4 February 10, 2010

So far I have been happy with these new skins. I bought them for my Dynafit Manaslu 178cm skis. They fit incredibly well and the tip and tail attachments work well.

I found the grip good and had only minimal slippage (2-3x while on steep sections) skinning 2700' on a packed powder surface.

The glide seemed fine, but the terrain I have used them on so far was almost exclusively climbing and did not have a lot of gliding. They are lighter than my previous skins (BD ascension) and the adhesive worked very well.

One comment- be sure to peel the attached backing in a warm area. I forgot to do this until I got to the trail and the backing ripped and was hard to remove at 20 degrees!

I didn't love it

Backcountry.com Siphon Wool Hooded Jacket - Men's

I ordered this and found that the medium fit very well (150#, 6' 1"), but I did not like the way it git. The jacket had a nice fleece liner, but I still found to wool to be itchy.

Good workmanship

The North Face Montana Mitt - Girls'

The North Face Montana Mitt - Girls'

These mitts are well crafted and I especially like the cuff locks, keeper strap and extended length to keep snow out of the mitten. They are not quite as well insulated or as warm as i had hoped, but we ski where the highs are routinely in the teens.

Manaslu Ski

Dynafit Manaslu Ski

Dynafit Manaslu Ski

Rating for this product: 5 December 29, 2008

This ski was purchased to do backcountry skiing in Colorado. I recently used it on a hut trip and was pleased. The ski is very light, but functional. It turns well, is responsive and had good float in 12" of powder. I would recommend it.

Great binding

Dynafit TLT Vertical ST Alpine Touring Binding

Dynafit TLT Vertical ST Alpine Touring Binding

Rating for this product: 4 December 29, 2008

I recently switched to Dynafit bindings after using Fritsche for 4 years. It takes a bit of practice to clip into the binding toepiece, but once it it is very solid. Skinning was easy in these skis and I think the motion is better than on the Fritsche bindings. I'm still getting used to unclicking the heel piece, but was surprised by how solid the binding is when locked. I am using Garmont Megaride boots and was very secure and comfortable. My skis responded well to turns and overall i really like this lightweight set-up
