The AK Expedition Shirt is not only an ideal under layer for combating the cold, but also makes for an awesome outer layer when just cruising around. Don't let the price scare you off—these tops are DEFINITELY worth the cash, look great, and feel even better.

EXCELLENT LID!

Giro Nine.9 Helmet

Giro Nine.9 Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 February 14, 2005

I love boarding and love my kid, and ordered two of these helmets--one for me and one for my 16 year old son...told 'em he wouldn't ride unless he wore it (yeah, I know, what an a-hole)...I made sure the color matched his goggles and other gear and, much to my surprise, he wears it without too much complaining. These helmets look way cool, fit just right (pay attention to sizing and measure your head), and keep your noggin dryer and warmer than any beanie...the added feeling of protection allows for more intense riding (can you say SCREAM), harder pops (KAPOW), and a more adrenaline pumped session...definitely a smart buy.

AWESOME BOTTOMS!

Burton AK 2L Vent Pant - Mens

Burton AK 2L Vent Pant - Mens

Rating for this product: 5 February 14, 2005

I had been wearing some heavy thinsulated Gore-tex Cabela bibs (kind of like walking in cardboard) until I got these pants, and am amazed at the difference. First, the fit is right and the comfort and ease of movement are incredible. The Gore-tex factor keeps you dry no matter how mushy the conditions, while providing plenty of breatheability so you don't get damp and cold inside, and the insulation keeps you toasty warm. The venting zips are very quickly effective and the arrangement and assortment of storage pockets allow you to take just about whatever you might need with you without feeling all bulked up...finally, the sturdy construction assures years of enjoyment. Bottom line...expensive---sure...worth it---ABSOLUTELY!

WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Arc'teryx Theta AR Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Theta AR Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 14, 2005

I purchased this shell primarily for snowboarding and after receiving it am sure it will be well used in cool damp weather year round. What the pictures can't show are the incredible attention to detail and top quality construction that are built into this jacket. Couple those factors with the classic Arcteryx styling and you can't lose. Sizing is perfect, allowing for adequate layering when needed yet not feeling baggy when not, and the just-past-the-hips length is a definite plus. Finally, the design allows for complete freedom of movement in every direction, encouraging whatever kind of radical moves and maneuvers you might consider. Note that this is a technical shell designed to provide an outer layer of comfortable protection, not a "snow jacket". It serves its purpose PERFECTLY, and with appropriate layering will provide better warmth and protection than pretty much any snow jacket out there. Expensive--everything's relative....worth the cost--ABSOLUTELY!

EXCELLENT BOOTS--RIGHT SIZING A MUST!!!

Northwave Snow Legend Snowboard Boot - Men's

Northwave Snow Legend Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 25, 2005

I got these boots just prior to an 8 hour/day 2 day boarding binge, and rate them absolutely as the best I've worn. They are incredibly sturdy yet lightweight, keep your paws toasty warm, and look better on your feet than they do in the pictures. The lace locks are GREAT for the liners, just okay for the shells, and provide for a custom fit allowing optimal comfort and function...the liners have to be cinched down snugly to make the most of these guys, and the locks are primo. The sizing conversion is a little tricky...BY ALL MEANS SIZE UP A HAIR OR YOUR TOES WILL BE CRUNCHED. These boots are definitely well worth the price---you won't be disappointed!

SIMPLY PUT---AWESOME!!!

Arbor A Frame Snowboard

Arbor A Frame Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2005

The A-Frame is not only incredibly cool to look at but is one hot ride indeed:super light-weight, responsive as hell, and as quick as ANY other board out there. While this stick provides a classic old school look, it is as high tech as they come. Arbor has spared nothing with regard to new innovations to improve this board. It is not only great for the pipe, jumps and tricks, but is also slick for just leaning back and cruising the mountain. DEFINITELY worth the cash, in fact a bargain!

Burton Cartel Snowboard Binding

Burton Cartel Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2005

These bindings are so full of features you can customize the fit and action to suit not only your set-up but your riding activity for the day, whether relaxed for mountain cruising or ratcheted down tight for grabbing some wild air ...the toe capstraps are incredibly comfortable and the launch pads allow for way quick responsiveness. The highback provides awesome support and feel and to top it off, their extremely sturdy yet lightweight design is SO comfortable you forget about 'em; you feel like you've just become one with the board. You can't go wrong with the Cartels.
