Five Ten Jet 7 Climbing Shoe

February 1, 2010

I found the fitting pretty much the same between my Anasaziz and Jet7s. I'd say try the size 5s.

Five Ten Jet 7 Climbing Shoe

Five Ten Jet 7 Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 5 January 12, 2010

In short:

Great fit.
Great rubber.
Crap for slabwork & smearing.
Great for overhangs, steep stuff and bouldering.

Got several pairs of shoes at this stage including a couple of pairs of Anasazi velcros. Got a pair of Jet7s to try them out, and really like them. Got them a 1/2 size bigger than the Anasazis (as I my Anasazis were a little on the small size) and they fit pretty much perfectly, fitting like a glove, but very comfortable with no slippage. The fit is such, that at the moment the fastener is pretty much redundant.

Climbing wise, I found they were brilliant. No use whatsoever on a slab, but then again, with a downturn like that they are not designed for that. Great for steep stuff. Inspire a lot of confidence. They encourage precise placement and reward with bongo levels of grip. Also noticed the rubber on the top of shoe when doing toe hooks. Grippy.

As noted in other reviews, these aren't a replacement for other shoes, but are a compliment to them. Get a pair of Anasazis for working routes that are slabby to vertical and a pair of Jet7s for climbs that are vertical to overhung.
