Black Diamond Neve Strap Crampons with ABS

December 25, 2011

So what is the difference between this model and the BD strap on crampons WITHOUT "ABS" that are $20 cheaper? Just curious. Do these ALSO fit on ski boots? Thanks.

Stoic luft down sweater

Stoic Luft Down Sweater - Men's

Stoic Luft Down Sweater - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 6, 2010

First off, not sure why they call this a "Sweater," it has no oversize collar, isn't made of wool and I don't have the urge to read Nabokov when i wear it, however it is a damn fine jacket. After freezing my ass off over NYE in Park city i realized my layering approach needed an upgrade. I've always wanted a down jacket but most of the ones i've seen make the wearer look like float in the macy's day parade, and truth be told, i was just too cheap to fork out the dough for one. I was able to get the Stoic on sale on BC.Com and it's super low profile design fit nicely under my Mt. Hardware shell. I wore it for the first time last weekend on a very cold and windy day (see: everyday) at Mammoth mountain and it was perfect! I had a Hot Chilly base layer under it and nothing else and i was toasty warm all day-not counting my toes. I kept winding up my ski buddies who were shivering under their multi layers, about how nice and warm I was all day. They were not amused. It had warmed up considerably the following day, and I found myself sweating as i wore it( ahh NOW I know why they call it a "Sweater) so i'd say reserve wearing this jacket for the more frigid days for sure. Or as one reviewer pointed out, "If you just want to impress the ladies, this stylish jacket is your ticket." Think of it as Lady Catnip! All kidding aside, this jacket rocks and is the perfect under-shell-layer. The fabric is a bit delicate so I wouldn't wear it on the outside if you're doing any bush wacking. Cheers.
