Perception Prodigy EXP Series Kayak

The longer the waterline on any boat, the better the directional stability, so yes, the 12-footer will track better. However, the cockpit is actually the same size between the two boats, so you may not really notice much of a difference comfort-wise. Also, keep in mind that with the larger boat, you will be wrangling an extra eight pounds on land; if youre going to be dragging the boat on and off a car or to and from the shore often, that is something to consider as well.

Osprey Packs Farpoint 55 Pack - 3173-3356cu in
January 23, 2011
The FAA stipulates that the total linear inches (that is, length plus width plus height) cannot exceed 45 inches, and in general should more or less conform to no more than 22 x 14 x 9in. That takes out the medium/large version, which is 24 inches long. As for the small/medium, its total dimensions 22 x 17 x 13in; since the depth of the removable backpack is 7 inches, youre just about in the ballpark of 45 linear inches for the larger bag when theyre split apart. Perhaps if youre a fast talker, and certainly if you enjoy elite frequent flyer status, youre probably going to be able to carry them both on without a problem.

Bern Watts Hard Hat Audio w/Knit Liner
January 23, 2011
As the description notes, Hard Hats do not meet action sports head protection standards, which consider the protection needed for protection in catastrophic collisions. Helmets lined with the harder (and far more common) EPS foam do. EPS foams work by slowing the impact of your head against the outer shell as well as outside objects; in the process, the foam cells are crushed, and the helmet will need to be replaced. Less-dense Brock foam, on the other hand, helps protect the head against lower force impacts; its cushioning action may help prevent concussions in lower-grade impacts (for example, when you catch and edge and whack your head on hard-packed snow). One helmet can take many such lower-grade impacts. So this boils down to, how do you feel youre going to hurt yourself? Are you more likely to hit the snow a lot, or are you planning on running into a tree?
