Patagonia Capilene 3 Crew - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 26, 2012

Sadly I am a poor college student; If I wasn't, I would exclusively own Capaline 2 and 3 shirts.

La Sportiva Crosslite Trail Running Shoe - Men's

La Sportiva Crosslite Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 August 28, 2011

I bought these after checking out a friends pair. Used them to compete in the North Georgia Adventure Race right out of the box with no problems at all. They have incredible traction (except for on slab by rocks thanks to the cleat like bottoms which equal a relatively small contact area on the rock), and are super comfy...Sort of fit like a big sock. They have a minimal heel-toe drop too with makes them a good fit for pose/barefoot running techniques. I feel that they run pretty true to size also.

My only complaint is that the lugs on the balls of my feet and at the heel are almost completely gone - as shown in the pictures below. I have worn them everyday for the past 6 months though so that was sort of to be expected.

Overall...great shoe.

La Sportiva CrossLite 2.0 Trail Running Shoe - Men's

August 28, 2011

This depends entirely on what you are used to hiking/backpacking in. I have always used trail runners similar to these, even when doing 100 mile treks through the sangre de christo mountains in new mexico carrying upwards of sixty pounds without problem.

La Sportiva Crosslite Trail Running Shoe - Men's

February 27, 2011

How durable is the sole? I'm looking for a shoe I can do anything in. The skylite is my first choice, due to the less aggressive sole, but no where seems to have them in my size (~45). If I were to get these, would those heavy lugs get destroyed by doing stuff on anything but trails?

Marmot ROM Softshell Jacket - Men's

January 7, 2011

What is the face fabric like? I'm looking for a harder fabric with good durability and water repellency, something not like my pro-shell jacket...but water resistant enough that I don't have to be worried in a light shower or snow melt dripping off of trees

Marmot Gravity Softshell Jacket - Men's

January 5, 2011

How does marmot's M1 material stack up against others such as gore windstopper? Also, how is the face fabric? Soft, hard, durable, not so durable? Sounds like it is pretty water resistant, can anyone comment from experience?

Eh...

Arc'teryx Hyllus Fleece Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Hyllus Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 November 14, 2010

I'm not going to lie, it's a nice jacket. But it really doesn't feel as burly as I think it should be, the face fabric feels as though if you were to take a tumble while shredding in the backcountry it would take some damage. I returned my marmot softshell for this and looking back i'm not sure I would do it again. While this would be warmer, i would like to see a harder face fabric for a jacket of this price even though I got it 50% off (the Hercules version)

Major condensation on the inside

Arc'teryx Alpha SL Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Alpha SL Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 October 13, 2010

I had some MAJOR issues with sweat condensing on the inside of this jacket. To the point where my fleece under it was wring-out-able, literally was soaked with condensation (not sweat off of my body). Expected more from a 300 bone jacket. It did keep water from the outside, outside of the jacket though. My pro shell arc' pants however breathed without a problem.

It has pit zips right? It says No core venting under the specs, but in the pics (especially in on the lichen ones) there appear to be pit zips
