Yes, these are heavier than titanium or aluminum. What do you expect when you buy stainless steel?

They store easily and protect anything you stash in them, clean up great, take year after year of beatings, and cook simple meals well. The handle works like it should and is much less of a pain than those ones with the clamp/grip thing you have to grab with every time. I've owned lighter pots, and keep turning back to this guy, even for extended backcountry hiking, because of durability and quality. If you're in shape and not hauling a ton of mountaineering gear, you should be able to carry the weight no problem. Quit being a weight-weenie and get hiking, your muscles will adapt.

Unfortunately I lost one of these at the bar so I won't get to see them to their natural end, but after most of a season of constant use, including a lot of bootpacking with the skis over my shoulder, these showed absolutely zero signs of wear. The palms broke in visibly, but they looked completely new. They are warm enough for me down to about zero, but I think I tolerate a little colder temps than most as long as I'm active. They are plenty dexterous, but my only complaints are the cuff and breathability. The cuff doesn't quite seem to be an under-the-jacket cuff, and definitely couldn't fit over my freeride jacket steezyness. Also, making the whole cuff leather kept it too stiff to really cinch, so why bother putting the shock cord and toggle on there at all? I wish it were just a trim velcro cuff or something a little lower profile. Also, even on a short bootpack on a cold day I would sweat them out, and that would be it, they'd be damp inside till the next day. Still, completely waterproof, warm enough, dexterous, and incredibly bomber construction make for a solid glove. They do take a little break-in as the leather forms to your grip and the lining packs out a little.

I'm a beginnerish skier, first season but I'm logging at least 4 or 5 days a week shredding the mountain. Lots of powder and chopped up fields, small cliffs and backcountry jibbing with the occasional groomer just to get to the lift. I weigh about 145 and have the 71's. I could have gone with 81's, but got a killer deal on the short guys.

I love these things. They float like whoa, turn real nice either long flowy turns or quick hops through tight trees. I like how soft the tails are, I feel like I can really smear em all over the mountain. I wouldn't quite call them snappy, but maneuverable and predictable. Also feel real stable at moderate to high speed, and give nice soft, stable landings. The only reason I knock a star off is cause the topsheets have shown wear pretty quickly, though it seems more superficial than functional.

Nice graphics (I got the 08's with the steezy 70's van/babe graphics) and they get lots of compliments too, if that matters to you.
