Merrell Snowmotion 6 Boot - Men's

March 19, 2010

Has anyone had problems with the lugs wearing prematurely or cracking? I wonder whether the particular Vibram soles chosen for these are able to withstand pavement and similar terrain in addition to snow and ice. I've noticed some cracks in the lugs after only a few such uses.

According to Marmot's Web site this jacket has been updated to use the new MemBrain® Strata™ 2.5 layer laminate:

Is this an older version?

Mountain Hardwear Exposure II Parka - Men's

December 7, 2009

I understand the powder skirt is not removable (correct me if I'm mistaken). However, are there internal snaps to secure it when its not in use, or does it hang loose?

Mountain Hardwear Exposure II Parka - Men's

December 1, 2009

But isn't that precisely the kind of environment in which this shell shines -- windy subfreezing temperatures? I was planning to wear a down "sweater" under the shell. I would think fit might be an issue with something like the Subzero jacket in terms of layering, but otherwise sound in principle. But I have no experience with such a combination, so hopefully someone that does will chime in.

Marmot Afterburner Fleece Jacket - Men's

November 29, 2009

What's the CBL of this jacket (medium specifically, but any will do)? Further, if anyone has actual garment measurements of a small or medium (CBL, shoulder and chest width), I'd be grateful.

I've never owned anything by Marmot before. Are they typically true-to-size? The sizing chart has their "small" very close to U.S. "standard" men's medium, but then I hear claims that Marmot tends to run small.

Thanks.
