First off, this pack is epically lightweight considering all of the features it is stocked with. It is a little bit flimsy, after a years worth of use I have broken a compression strap and worn through the fabric around the frame in one spot. That said, it is still pretty durable considering the weight.

I have had it in light rain for 2 hours before the inside started to soak (it was a little wet though)

This pack is more suited to general backpacking than specialized applications because it fits very wide. I can fit my kelty lightyear 0 degree down sleeping bag horizontally in the bottom of the pack.

It is fully loaded with every feature under the sun: gear loop, ice tool loops, hip pockets, shoulder pockets, multiple top pockets, compression options, etc. Not only that, but it swallows EVERYTHING. I take it on multi day trips in CO winter and it works great with my fast and light style.

Overall, VERY COMFORTABLE and very practical: its my go-to pack for multi-day adventure.

I am 5'10" and 140lbs, so I default to medium. I got this guy because the mixed merino concept would go well with my layering system... Unfortunately the "medium" I purchased fits me like a "large" :( Its almost like this particular piece was mislabeled or something because it fits friends of mine who wear "large" to "XL". It definitely does not have the technical athletic fit that I was looking for, so I will return it and order a "small" merino comp anorak instead.

I dont really have anything good to say about this product. I found it to be made from heavy metal, yet all of the joints are loose so points that would be made from being sturdy are lost. Also, I found that I could not switch from one pot to another while hot without some difficulty. Overall, I find this product to feel very flimsy, despite its heavy construction. In my opinion, the MSR pot gripper is light-years ahead of this one.

These are my favorite pair of socks because they have the Thorlo padding where I DO want it and not where I don't. The merino part stretches to closely hug your foot, while the Thorlo absorbs the shock of impact. They are also pretty durable and have not worn out. I am usually a sandal guy because I prefer barefoot, but when I do wear shoes, these are my favorite light to medium weight socks.

Sadly, I cant echo most of the other reviews.
After one year of (what I would consider moderate) use, I found that there were some breaches in the waterproof membrane, the sole had been worn down 75% and some of the stitching had come undone. While they were new, the performance was 4 stars, but I expect shoes of this caliber to last longer than one year of 2 days per week of use on average.

I know many other people with this shoe, and it suits them wonderfully... I think I must have got a "lemon" pair or something. Everyone else I know with this shoe LOVES it.

This is without a doubt my favorite pack of all time. I have the older orange version, and it serves me well for climbing approaches, as it can swallow a full trad rack easily. The outer mesh pockets can expand and then contract, I have not stretched them out. The side pockets accommodate a nalgene silo 1.5L bottle without complaint. The pocket in the front can easily hold your shell for those times when you take a break on the trail. The pack is very light, yet still retains enough organizational options to be functional to live out of. The pack will carry 30-50 pounds of gear without too much trouble.

I find that the straps are also incredibly comfortable. Osprey has made a way for the straps to all be tucked away so they are not dangling around. The hip-belt pockets are also mesh, so you can put something in there without it uncomfortably rubbing against your hips. The pack rests mostly right up against my back with little breathing room, however it is not overly hot and uncomfortable. The straps are easy to adjust, even with cold hands.

I traveled through India for two months using just what I could fit into this backpack. It is small enough to take as a carry-on, yet large enough to have room for multi-day summer backpacking trips. I would only recommend this as a multi-day pack if you are a light packer however.
