Rossignol Angus Snowboard

Rossignol Angus Snowboard - Wide

Rossignol Angus Snowboard - Wide

Rating for this product: 5 April 7, 2010

This board is AMAZING. I have used it on crusty snow, slushy snow, packed powder, deep fluffy powder, etc. It excels in all conditions. The reverse camber plus amptek is an amazing combination. Great in powder, stable on groomers or hardpack, absolutely blasts thru crud, which on Mt Hood happens pretty early in the day. I have two other boards...a Burton Malolo with Cartel EST bindings, and a GNU Altered Genetics with Union Force bindings. My favorite snowboard is the Rossignol Angus (162MW). My favorite thing about it (aside from the sick graphics by Alex Pardee) is the consistency and smoothness of turn initiation on it -- smooth, deliberate and predictably precise. I love this board. Rossignol nailed the recipe on this one!
PS, Backcountry is equally superb -- great customer service, product selection and super speedy shipping. It's easy to tell they are trying to be the best and do things differently.

DC Judge rules

DC Judge Snowboard Boot - Men's

DC Judge Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 17, 2010

Awesome boot. I usually wear a size 10.5 street shoe, and size 9.5 ski boot and size 10 snowboard boot. I bought these in 11s...they run small. Best ankle hold/grip of any boot i've tried. total ankle grip without any pinching. lots of volume in the forefoot (maybe too much...and i have wide foot). Just stiff enough without being too stiff. Dual boa system is magic. works like a charm.

Hestra Knows How To Make Gloves

Hestra XCR Mitten

Hestra XCR Mitten

Rating for this product: 5 January 30, 2010

I have Raynaud's condition with my fingers...IOW they get cold easily and stay cold. I've lived in Maine and Oregon and have never had a glove that kept me warm on really cold days. I have a Swany mitten that is awesome (with a zipper pouch for a hand warmer) but have had some ski trips where even these with a liner don't handle extreme cold. Enter Hestra XCR mitt. I did my research; even called and spoke to Hestra customer service/sales and asked questions (wow they are as passionate about gloves as they are knowledgable...whoever does the hiring there should get a pay increase) and settled on these. Took them out today on a ski trip and first time I've ever had to take my gloves OFF because my hands got too warm after a couple intense runs. In other words, without liners or hand warmers, these are like having heated pillows around my hands. These will be my go-to gloves for when it is really cold outside...and I don't have to worry about them getting wet as the gore-tex adds more waterproofing. I own a pair of Hestra Army Gauntlet gloves too and those have served me really well too. All the attention to materials, features, fit, etc.....Hestra is the ultimate glove maker in my book.

S6 Koopman

Rossignol S6 Koopman Alpine Ski

Rossignol S6 Koopman Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 5 January 21, 2010

I have had these one year. Have used them at Whistler, Hood, Schweitzer and Bachelor. They are AWESOME. I am 6'1" 170lbs and went for the 174s, wanting to keep it nimble/quick. My most recent trip to Mt. Bachelor really proved the value of this ski to me as a one-ski quiver. Over three days the mountain got every type of variable condition imaginable, different snow inside of one day, and I was amazed how this ski handled groomers, fresh powder and crud. For those three conditions, I was never disappointed. For a run where it had all three, the S6s were a delight. Others were wiping out, and my skis adapted real time. I like how light the skis are. I mounted the light wide Marker Griffon's to them which i feel is a great match. I have owned Rossi SC80s, Volkl Mantras, Fischer Wateas, etc., and I think the S6 is my favorite "if I could only have one ski" ski. And without a doubt, the coolest looking graphics I've seen on any ski.
