Streak is the word

Montrail Streak Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 12, 2010

Saw a couple reviews raise durability questions so I figured I'd just show my shoes. I'm 6'1" 175# and this is the very shoe I ran the MAS 50 and a R2R2R in last fall. I probably also had 50-100 training miles on this pair. I don't see any signs of the mesh falling apart or knobbies coming off. If others are having problems with the shoe, would be helpful to see pictures of the damage. I train on a fair amount of jagged rocky terrain in the Wasatch so I think I give a good test to a shoe, have certainly seen a few pairs explode!

Great Multi-use Softshell

Cloudveil Serendipity Jacket - Men's

Cloudveil Serendipity Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 5, 2010

First winter with the Serendip, love it. Have had it out for sunny days and a few pounding days in-bounds (sadly few so far this year) and it has performed like a champ. Breathes amazingly well & repels the wet nicely. Haven't had it out for hiking to turns yet, so that will be a test too. Moves well, good pockets, just what you want in a softshell. I'm 6'1"/175 and the sleeves in the medium could be 1/2-1" longer, but I didn't want to go to a bigger body. Cloudveil tends to be a bit big in the body and shorter on the sleeves than some others, guess they grow 'em thick & stubby in Jackson!

'Go to' jacket

Cloudveil Gridlock Fleece Jacket - Men's

Cloudveil Gridlock Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 5, 2010

This is my grab-n-go jacket. You know when you get the one jacket you find yourself reaching for all the time? The lining slides over any other shirt or fleece so you don't have that "fleece-on-fleece" struggle like with a lot of linings. Just the right warm, but never sweaty. It's in no way going to shed precip, so it's mainly for around town, but ya gotta get around town, right? Pretty much a no frills jacket, only the outer chest pocket, but for whatever reason, even though I have 52 jackets (yeah, the wife counted the other day...like I got some kinda problem?) this is the one I find myself looking for when I head out the door.

Cloudveil RPK Jacket - Men's

January 5, 2010

Don't know specifically, but I have had to contact their customer service and it was quite refreshing. A person answered the phone, no phone tree to work through, were helpful and took care of my question, set up a return and sent a new item out no hassle. Really seem like a company that would figure out a solution for you. I have a few of their jackets, though not the RPK, and haven't seen quality issues like that, hopefully an anomaly.

Montrail Streak

Montrail Streak Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Montrail Streak Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 2, 2009

This is a great trail shoe. I had moved away from Montrail to try some other options that were lighter and less bulky (after running the Vitesse for about 2 years). This shoe brought me back to the Montrail fold with it's nimble performance in the technical downhills and classic Montrail bomber construction. Looking forward to taking them out for their first 50m this weekend. I bought a half size smaller than I have previously with Montrail, don't know if this is a new trend for Montrail or just a little glitch with this shoe. Would be curious if others have noticed anything in their fit? More Miles!
++ Ran a 50m in them this past weekend, they were terrific! Best shoe I have used for ultra races. Great foot protection in rocky terrain in such a light shoe. My feet felt fine, better than after any other race I've done. I have been happy with shoes only to toss them after going big distances before, these are even higher in my book with a good distance trial.

Wildcat

La Sportiva Wildcat Trail Running Shoe - Men's

La Sportiva Wildcat Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 June 2, 2009

I like the free feel of this meshy shoe for the flats, but if you are thinking about running any terrain with moderate to steep descent, I would recommend looking elsewhere. I have run this shoe for about a month 1/2, distances up to 26 miles. I think the traction is good as most La Sportiva's, but the translation to the foot is not secure. I got my first blister in 3 years running laps on Mt. Wire. The problem is on the descent, the forefoot is just not secure with exclusively mesh support. I would re-tie the shoe multiple times on runs and still feel like she was getting loose in the corners. Probably good for Midwest rollers, but not a mountain trail shoe. More Miles!

Fireblade

La Sportiva Fireblade Trail Running Shoe - Men's

La Sportiva Fireblade Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 2, 2009

Very good trail shoe. Lightweight, but well constructed to handle the rocky and technical terrain where I train. The impact absorption is where the sacrifice was made and even though I love the shoe, I no longer use them for runs over about 20 miles. It starts to feel like jackhammers on my feet. I'm 6'1" 170# so that may be the difference why some folks who are a little lighter, like Karl, can enjoy this shoe for ultradistances. If you're running rocky trails, especially where you want good turnover to push your downhill pace, this is a great shoe.
