Black Diamond Mondo Crash Pad

Rating for this product: 5 May 31, 2011

Took the Mondo out bouldering in Little Cottonwood a few weekends ago. Definitely the best boulder pad if you're worried about falling on sketchy landings. Lots of foam means you feel comfortable reaching for that next hold. The only downside? Hiking with a huge foam backpack and trying to dodge branches.

4FRNT Skis MSP Ski

April 14, 2011

Hey Janky,

Probably can't go wrong with either. I'd say if you're going to hit more trees, bumps and park, go with the 171. If you're going to bomb down runs and want something more stable, do the 181. I'm 6'1", 150lbs and I ski a 185cm, but I don't touch the park...

Sorel Caribou Boot - Men's

April 14, 2011

Hey Ben,

Depends on the hike. These boots are heavy, and meant to be worn in really, really cold winter/snow weather. I did a ~3 mile snow hike and they were great, but if I was going longer distances, I'd want something lighter.

Five Ten Anasazi Lace-Up V2 Climbing Shoe

April 14, 2011

Hey Victor,

You're right, synthetic shoes will stretch a little....probably about 1/4 a size. If the right foot fits perfectly now and the left is too tight, I'd recommend sticking with this current pair. (Fair warning, I usually boulder and wear my shoes so tight it hurts).

If the left is just too tight, you can sometimes buy a different size for your left foot and right foot (dealers will usually charge a few more bucks, but it's worth it to get a good fit). Happy climbing!

Arc'teryx Sidewinder SV Jacket - Men's

February 25, 2011

Trying to figure out if I need a size Medium or Small. I'm 6'1" and about 160lbs. Looking to fit 1-2 layers underneath without the jacket being super baggy. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Great skis

Line Prophet 100 Ski

Line Prophet 100 Ski

Rating for this product: 5 February 3, 2011

Picked these up a few weeks ago, and I can't say enough good things about them. I'm about 150lbs, 6'1", and I bought the 186cm skis and set them up with Hammerhead telemark bindings. They're my first pair of fat skis and they handle really well on most kinds of terrain. Floaty enough for a foot of pow, and hold an edge really well on resort groomers. Quick edge to edge, especially for being 100 underfoot.I debated between the 179cm and 186cm length for a while, and am really happy with the 186cm. I can make quick turns and if I want to charge down the hill, they keep up. Highly recommended if you want a single ski to do almost everything.

Awesome Organic Shirt

NAU Free Range Plaid Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

NAU Free Range Plaid Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 3, 2010

Just snagged this shirt in "Wave Plaid." Really comfortable fabric, slim fit. I'm a big fan of the snap buttons on the front and cuffs because the make rolling your sleeves up really easy. I wore the shirt once last week and received lots of compliments. Definitely my new favorite piece of clothing.
