how tough is this thing? i do a lot of bushwhacking and i don't want it to tear when i'm fifty miles out in the ak backcountry. any thoughts?

Stoic Luft Hoody Insulated Sweater - Men's

This thing is great. I used in Alaska on a backpacking trip, it got down to 15 below and the only insulation I used was this and a fleece. It packs very light and nice and small. The cuff is really nice too, it keeps the snow out pretty well. The hood could be a little bit smaller, but other than that I have no complaints. Definitely worth the weight and the money for the amount of insulation it provides.

Great Jacket

Stoic Bombshell Jacket - Men's

This is a great jacket, I used in Alaska on a backpacking adventure. It performed perfectly, it got down to 15 below, and when teamed with the Stoic Luft insulated sweater, it works great. It seems to be very durable so far. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because the snow cuff needs a little bit of adjusting, it is a little bit short and pulls on your hand when you put gloves over it. Overall a very good coat and well built.

MSR WhisperLite International Multi-Fuel Stove

I bought one of these a couple of years ago and love it. I have used it backpacking in the summer and winter in Alaska and it performed beautifully. A friend of mine gave me his that he bought close to 20 years ago and it fired right up. Very reliable stove. The ONLY thing that would make this perfect is a simmer control, but that can almost be remedied by the pump. All in all, a must have.

How tough is this jacket? I'm from Alaska and i need a jacket that will stand up to brushing against trees and brush when there isn't a trail, i don't want to have to be worrying all the time if i'm going to hurt the coat.
