Amazing Shoe

La Sportiva Boulder X Approach Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 29, 2010

These are some of the best shoes I have owned. The Vibram rubber is oh so sticky and is great for approaches. I have done a 5.8 in these shoes as well. So comfortable and are also great to wear around town. Great shoe!

Destroyed Them

La Sportiva Halite GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

La Sportiva Halite GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 October 15, 2010

Got these boots off of SAC for $70...A steal for sure. Wore them all over the place, canyoneering, mountaineering, in the Grand Canyon twice, 40+ summits and 10.5 Colorado 14'er, and worked at Philmont Scout Ranch in Northern New Mexico with them. They were very very comfortable the whole time I had them, never got a blister what so ever. However, mid-way through the summer, the seems starting to come out of the leather. Slowly, the whole outside began to fall apart to where there was gaping holes. Surprisingly, they were still somewhat waterproof. I loved this boots, but it just didn't hold up to what I threw at them. I soaked them day in and day which was probably a reason why the seems came out. The soles did very well with all the use, but not much else. Sending them back.

A little big

The North Face Slickrock Bike Short - Men's

The North Face Slickrock Bike Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 14, 2010

Really cool pants (I haven't worn them yet), but they run way to big. I usually wear a medium for pants and got these in a medium, but they won't even stay up around my waist! I could have easily gone with a small.

Not as Epic as I hoped for

Mountain Hardwear Epic Pant - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Epic Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 February 2, 2010

I have had these pants for almost a year (bought them at the start of 2009). They are extremely waterproof and I have never had an issue with water getting. I have taken them mountaineering many times and been in summer monsoons in the Rockies with them. They work great. HOWEVER, the waterproofing around the ankles has totally disappeared! It is now ultra thin and doesn't have the waterproofing on it. Also, the seam taping is coming off too. I am in the process of sending them back for a new pair (and new model). Hopefully I get my moneys worth this time.

A Very Nice Boot, but...

La Sportiva Halite GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 23, 2010

they run a little big. I usually where an 11.5, but I could have easily gone with an 11, maybe even a 10.5. I got mine and Steep and Cheep. Crazy deal for a very nice boot. It is very lightweight too!

Black Diamond Firstlight Tent 2-Person 3-Season

November 27, 2009

Go with the Firstlight if you haven't already. I faced that same issue when buying mine. When I was in the Sangre de Cristo I ran into a guy with a HiLight and I am glad I choose the Firstlight. Its alot more compact and easier to set up (I think the Firstlight is the apex of easy set up for a tent). If your a taller person or looking too fit two people with room, go with the HiLight. Anyway you choose, they are both good tents.
