Oakley Refraction Full-Zip Hooded Sweatshirt - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 4, 2011

Possibly the warmest hoody ever.... I haven't stopped wearing it since it arrived in the post the other day, perfect for cruising round town for Apres Ski! Great fur lining. The fit is actually quite small though, no baggy-ness built in FYI

Dynafit Titan TF-X Ski Boot - Men's

September 20, 2010

Hi guys, quick question about sizing - does anyone know what the last is on these? I've read mixed figures. I'm in a 98mm at the moment.

Also, any advice on sizing - I'm currently skiing Lange Super Banshees (Lange WC 130's basically) in a 26.5 which are pretty much spot on, if anything slightly too small - any thoughts on which mondo size? I'm guessing stick with a 26.5?

Thanks a lot for any help! - Pretty ridiculous questions I know - just having trouble getting hold of a pair in the UK. Cheers, Rob

Fantastic Gloves

Hestra Army Leather Gore-Tex XCR Glove

Hestra Army Leather Gore-Tex XCR Glove

Rating for this product: 5 April 5, 2010

I just got these gloves to go with my norrona onesie and they're fantastic. Really really good build quality. The extra leather over the thumb and forefinger where you pick up your skis is a particularly good afterthought. Very very warm and yet breathable these are a true all conditions glove which can be dressed up with an inner in very cold conditions. I was wearing these easter skiing last week though and my hands didn't get sweaty at all except on hikes when I simply slipped them off and let them hang by their elastic cuffs - why don't more manufacturers use these great things that we used to have as kids?!

Really happy with them. (The cuff is very long....)

Bomb proof (nearly......)

Norrøna Lofoten Gore-Tex Pro Shell One-Piece Suit - Men's

Norrøna Lofoten Gore-Tex Pro Shell One-Piece Suit - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 5, 2010

In short, this suit is incredible.

1. Build quality is top notch - three layer goretex will keep absolutely everything outside whilst allowing your body to breathe still from the inside - out. The zips are all high quality and durable. The boot cuffs are the best I've come across and appear very sturdy.

2. Design is fantastic - I've got the chess board version and it's extremely eye catching - sometimes embarassingly so! The blue / orange version is more understated but equally impressive. It has pockets absolutely everywhere you need them - I think I've used all of them now! You don't even need a pack a lot of the time with this. I'm usually a medium but went for a large which is pretty baggy on me! Your normal size would still be quite baggy. Stunning design.

3. Other points - it's in no way thermal at all. Although goretex will keep the wind out which helps a lot, you need a few layers underneath this to keep you warm. The sleeve cuffs are great for getting over gloves.

Overall I love it, best item of clothing I've ever bought.

Incredible freeride boot

Lange Super Banshee Ski Boot - Men's

Lange Super Banshee Ski Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 28, 2010

I've skied these out for five weeks now; two doing serious backcountry skiing, two punting around on the pistes with the family and one race training. They really are an incredible pair of boots; stiff enough to charge hard and even race in (it's fairly recreational but still pretty serious) and yet comfortable enough to wear buckled up all day if you're used to stiff boots - I've even done a couple of short tours in them. It was a toss up between these or a race boot and I'm so glad I went with these. The cushioned tongue is brilliant for eliminating shin bang and the slightly elasticated power strap allows enough give to drop off things whilst keeping the overall response very stiff and reactive.

A really great boot, if anything I'd have liked them a little bit stiffer. Vibram soles are great on the ice as well! Very funny when you're with a load of guys in race boots and no cat tracks....

Hestra Army Leather Gore-Tex XCR Glove

February 4, 2010

I've just got a pair of these in a size 9 and I can't decide whether they're too big or not - there's room between my finger tips and the tips of the glove but it's not excessive..... They're a bit cumbersome to try and do things with and they're not tight fitting but I'm not convinced they're too big! Any thoughts on sizing guys? Is a bit loose quite good or do you want them to 'fit like a glove' as it were(!)? I know this is a bit vague sorry - any help is greatly appreciated! Cheers

Black Diamond GlideLite Mohair Mix STS Climbing Skin

January 23, 2010

Hi there,

I'm thinking about getting some Black Crows Sevuns which are 146-117-136 with some dukes for short tours but I see these skins only come up to a 125mm width - will that be ok do you think? I see the nylon ones come up to 140mm but I hear nylon's not so great for European snow - tends to ball up and stick?

Thanks for your help!

Rob

Norrøna Lofoten Gore-Tex Pro Shell Pant - Men's

November 25, 2009

What's the liner like on these? Do you need to wear thermals underneath or are they fleece lined? (I've never had to wear leg thermals - I usually stay ridiculously warm!) Cheers guys
