Line Sir Francis Bacon Ski

November 21, 2010

I have the prophet 130's mounted with hammerheads and have never been happier with a pow ski. Perfect for a tele mount, mounted at pin line center. The tip rocker is awesome, no sinking tips, and they charge through crud. Have enough side -cut and are stiff enough to be good on hard pack, while playful enough to throw down.
Having said that, I am currently looking at mounting this years bacon with axls. They are light and have similar specs to the 130, but with a litttle bit more tip rocker. Both skis are sick for pow, so it really depends what your doing with them. The 130's are very powder specific, while the bacon's will be more of an all-mountain ski.

Black Diamond O1/O2/O3 Cartridges

November 21, 2010

Still need a little clarification...Giving my 168 Nomads with BD O1's and mid stiff cartridges to my girlfriend, she wears a mondo 24.5 and is just starting to tele. Do I need to replace the cables as well as the cartidges to convert the binding assembly to freeflex small to fit her smaller boot? (i.e. the backcountry repair kit and replacement cartridges, totally over $100)?

Black Diamond O1 Telemark Ski Binding

October 5, 2010

axl is the way to go. I ripped my o1 bindings out of my nomads and had to get them remounted. These bindings suck ass. Far too much lateral flex.

I have these skis mounted hammerheads and they are straight-lining, cliff-dropping, chop-busting skis. The huge size takes a little getting used to and I ended up crossing them a few times at high speeds until I got used to them, but the early rise and wide tip gives them incredible float and the ability to stomp through chop exceptionally well. Even though they are so big they do well on-piste as long as your willing to give them the speed they deserve. As a backcountry setup they aren't super light, but aren't super heavy either (they are lighter than my 168 Nomads). Definately need a super stiff binding to be able to control them, hammerheads are a must.

How would these skis compare to the EP Pro's as a tele setup? I like the price tag of these better than the EP pros and am in need of a pow ski. I will mount hammerheads on whatever I end up getting.

Line Eric Pollard Pro Ski

February 9, 2010

I am looking into getting a bigger pow ski than my 168 Nomads with BD O1's. I'm debating over the EP pros or the Salomon Czars, both would be mounted with a hammerhead. Anybody skiied either of the skis as a tele setup? I'm curious if the EP pros will be a bit too soft, and where to mount them. I'm 6'1" and 140 lbs. and want a nice playful pow tele-ski.

Burton Vent Pant - Men's - 09/10

Burton Vent Pant - Men's - 09/10

Rating for this product: 4 December 17, 2009

These pants are nice and lightweight with zero insulation. But they keep you dry. Wearing some thermals underneath make them perfect for cold days, and the side and inseam vents are sweet for super hot days. My only complaint is that they run really long. For sig fit pants they sure are baggy. As long as you have your boots on they are fine, but once you take them off they are draggin on the ground, even with the little tab to hold them up.
