These things rock

Dynafit Manaslu Ski

Dynafit Manaslu Ski

Rating for this product: 4 October 21, 2010

When starting to look for an AT setup my friend told me to buy the lightest stuff I could afford. I went with these skis and they rock. I have skied 3 14ers with them along with a bunch of other back country and they ride great. They work great in the crap snow you find at the summit of most 14ers and they are awesome in the POW. I rode them down Baldy Chute at Alta and they were excellent. They are mounted towards the back of the ski so they don't ride bumps at the resort very well - but you don't buy these skis to ride at the resorts!

Two Small People

Mountain Hardwear Skyledge 2.1 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

Mountain Hardwear Skyledge 2.1 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 4 April 15, 2010

So I picked this tent up last night - took about 7 minutes to set up with not instructions. Two major things stood out when I got inside of it.

1. If you are over 6 feet tall you will be touching both ends of the tent when you are in a sleeping bag (I didn't have it staked out and just laying in it without a bag I was touching both ends)

2. This is really a two person tent if you are a couple as many people have mentioned in last years reviews - if its you and your college buddy you won't be very comfortable in this tent - even sleeping feet to head.

I have a dog and there is almost no way I could fit myself, a girl, and the dog in the test at night - if she was a bit calmer of a dog she might be able to sleep in the vestibule but if its raining she would end up soaked and getting everything muddy. This will likely be going back and getting exchanged for the three person version.

I haven't tested it outside and if you were using it for the correct application it seems like it would be a fantastic tent - so I will give it four stars so I don't drag the rating down.

Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boot - Men's

Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 26, 2009

I have used these to hike 9 14ers in Colorado this summer/fall along with some easy hikes around Boulder and Evergreen.

They are super comfortable from the moment you try them on at the store and every time I hike in them.

If you are using them for day hikes and short backpacking trips I would say they are perfect!
