Sweet Bindings!

Marker Griffon 12 Ski Binding

Marker Griffon 12 Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 5 December 24, 2010

I bought a pair of marker schizos last year and bought the griffons this year
Marker's royal family bindings are ridiculous--ridiculously good!
They are super light and really help initiate a turn, especially on fatter skis (due to a wider base plate).
My one complaint, like many others, is the fact that they do get scratched easily (mainly the grey paint).
Although this makes the bindings look less attractive, the performance is not affected whatsoever.

Hope this review helps!

INSANE SKIS!!!!!!

Armada JJ Ski

Armada JJ Ski

Rating for this product: 5 December 20, 2010

These skis kill it--everything!
theres nothing these skis cannot do.
I took them out for the first time today with 13 inches of new snow and they were amazing!
They keep you floating above the powder and the 5-dimension sidecut makes it really easy to slash your turns.
They are OKAY on the groomers, especially for a pow ski they are actually pretty sweet.
They are really snappy but very stable as well
these are basically the best all mountain powder ski on the market!!

By the way....
I am 5'6" and 125 lbs.
I ski the 175 cm length
I have marker griffons mounted on them at the recommended mounting point

There are no changes to the JJ besides the topsheet graphic. If I were you, I wouldnt upgrade to the current model if you have the 09-10 model, they are the same skis

get the jjs over the s7s. the other options you're looking at are not too different from your obsetheds and are not worth changing. Get the JJs, thay have every single technology you could want in a ski. the S7s are very similar but the JJs seem to overpower them, at least thats what most people say.

Armada JJ Ski

November 1, 2010

I have a question about the 2009-2010 Armada JJs. I bought a pair and I noticed that the sidewalls are aligned perfectly but the logos that say "armada" on the ABS sidewalls are not aligned together.... is my product defective? THese are the 2009-2010 model and everything else is aligned together except the logos on the sidewalls. If you put the two skis together (base to base), the sidewall logo of one ski is higher than the other. I have a photo to better explain what i mean.

Nice boots

Salomon SPK Kaos Ski Boot - Men's

Salomon SPK Kaos Ski Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 15, 2010

I really like these boots, they are really easy to put up because of the two buckle system and you can get them on and off within seconds. They are pretty comfortable and have a nice all-mountain flex. They also look very cool. My one complaint on these boots is that the bottom buckle hurts the bone on my foot when tightened. It didnt affect my overall rating on these boots because I think it has to do with my foot and not the boots. My foot often feels like that in other boots too.

AMAZING HELMET!

Smith Holt Helmet

Smith Holt Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 August 13, 2010

This helmet is super comfortable and has pretty good ventilation plus its super lightweight.
My only complaint about these skis would be that the padding on the chin strap does not bend well and is pretty stiff, the more you use it, the more it wears out and fits the chin better. One of the best helmets out there.

K2 Hellbent Alpine Ski

August 13, 2010

For you to decide between the ARGs and Hellbents..

The hellbents will have more rocker tip and tail than the ARGs and will have a larger turn radius, the soft flex will make it a little harder to land big cliffs without landing backseat.WILL HANDLE RIDING SWITH AND LANDIN SWITCH AMAZINGLY. one of the best backcountry jib skis on the market.

The ARGs will have a bit more surfier feel due to the reverse sidecut. They will be a little stiffer for bigger cliffs and might turn easier in the trees. Will not float as well as the hellbents , but will still float amazingly. they will also be more versatile due to the slight camber and sidecut underfut. They will handle crud better than the hellbents.

They are both amazing skis but I would go for the ARGs if I were you, for the terrain you are skiing, you will have a lot more fun. Either way, you cant go wrong with either, the Hellbents are super sick, as well.

As for size, just remember, always go up. I've skied skis that are big for me and they might be a little harder to maneuver but they provide more float because of the greater surface area and will be stiffer because they are meant for heavier people. Hope this helps.

K2 Hellbent Alpine Ski

March 31, 2010

I like next years obsethed but I thought they would be the same in versatility as the hellbents because they have the same tip rocker. I'm not crazy about skiing switch in pow or doing tricks but i do ski switch and sometimes do tricks and i'm worried that the all-terrain tail of the obsethed will not handle riding switch that well. Is the tail of the obsethed much stiffer than the tail of the hellbents? Thanks for your help, Jack.

March 30, 2010

I'm debating between this years hellbents and next years k2 obsethed. The 2009-10 hellbents are only 5mm wider than the 2010-11 k2 obsethed but im not sure which would be the better ski. If anyone has any thoughts can you please help? thanks..

Traverse Poles

Black Diamond Traverse Ski Poles

Black Diamond Traverse Ski Poles

Rating for this product: 5 February 17, 2010

These poles are really nice and great in powder. My one concern is that they are a bit heavy. For adjustable poles, they are moderately light, but for normal non-adjustable poles, they are not exactly light. You become more accomodated to the weight the more you use them. Besides the weight, they are really nice looking poles and are great quality. You cannot go wrong with Black Diamond poles.

Marker Griffon Schizo 12 Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 5 November 28, 2009

They only make skiing even better than it already is. They are pretty durable. They are a bit heavy but you get used to the weight quickly. great for carving thanks to the fat toe piece (especially with wider skis). they are super versatile and cool looking. I would definitely recommend this binding to anyone who wants to ski everything all over the mountain.

Great pack. It has compartments for everything you need to take with you when skiing on-piste and off-piste. Has a really cool look and is very comfortable. The water compartments comes in very handy for hydrating and the side pockets are great for keeping a camera, a gronola bar, a cell phone, etc. Over all, I would definitely recommend this pack for anyone looking to have a little fun in the snow.

Marker Griffon 12 Ski Binding

October 27, 2009

The 110s might be a bit big and might actually touch the snow when carving. If you're going to ride switch they might even hook. You're better off adjusting the 90mm ones with some plyers.

Marker Griffon Schizo 12 Ski Binding

October 26, 2009

how is the fit of the binding? when i was much younger i had the basic marker bindings (not from the royal family) and the feel of the binding was horrible--you could tell they were bad quality. then i switched to some salomon bindings and really enjoyed how the boot snapped in and the feel of the binding was really nice. Im planning on buying these but i dont want them to feel like my old marker bindings. I think these will be better because many of the pros use marker royal family bindings but im still not sure, can someone help me?
