Great harness

Black Diamond Momentum Speed Adjust Harness - Men's

Black Diamond Momentum Speed Adjust Harness - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 19, 2011

This is a great harness whether you're just getting into climbing, or a seasoned veteran at the crag. The speed adjust buckles make it super easy to slip the harness on and off, but it's comfortable enough that I usually just wear it most of the day from crag to crag. The gear loops are solid as well, coated with a stabilizing plastic to retain its rigidity. I am 5'9" 155lbs with about a 30 inch waist and the medium fits me perfectly. A great harness for anyone, especially at the price.

Solid rain jacket.

Mountain Hardwear Epic Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Epic Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 19, 2011

So far this jacket has done everything I've expected from it. My last jacket was simply just a shell; no pockets, no ventilation, which can leave you just as uncomfortable and wet during a summer rain. The pit zips are a little awkward to operate when you're wearing it, but it's completely worth it in order to have the ventilated option. As far as waterproof capabilities, the conduit silk material seems to hold up pretty well. I actually have been using it more for work (landscaping) than on the trail, but it has seen its share of abuse and dirt and still repels water pretty well. Other notable features are the two zippered hand pockets, zippered breast pocket, waist drawcord, velcro cuffs, and the hood drawcord which is simply a single cord you pull at the very top of your head, rather than two cords on either side of your face like on some jackets. All in all, the quality of material, weight, features, and the very affordable price at backcountry.com make this jacket a great choice for any potentially rain-soaked adventure.
