Kelty Grand Mesa 2 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

Kelty Grand Mesa 2 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

I got this tent 3 years ago for christmas because I was going into geology, and it's held up through everything since then. It's 1st test was the record rains in the black hill where we got close to 8 inches in 3 hours. Absolutly no leaks and i had to take on another person beacuse his tent failed. Has been through numerous rain and snow storms. Two weekends ago I was out in Wyoming and our group was camped on the wrong side of the mountain. Because there was only 3 inches of soil before the stakes hit bedrock the tent was held down with rocks. The tent survived the howling winds and the pelting rain all night and through the next day. I can do nothing but sing it's praise for keeping my dry and warm while the tents around me leaked or collapsed.

Mountain Hardwear Mesa Pant - Women's

Mountain Hardwear Mesa Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 28, 2010

I absolutly love this pair of hiking pants. I bought them for a geology trip in NM and they with- stood everything I put them through. That includes the plant life and karst weathered limestone, but the best part was they didn't chafe while wearing a pack all day (7- 8 hrs). They are pretty close to being water proof, and the cinch at the bottom helps keep the water out of your boot when stream walking. I will be buying another pair.

Backcountry.com Luft 800 Down Sweater - Women's

November 4, 2009

No it's not treated to be water proof, but the material is slightly water resistant. I wore it out in the Black Hills when it was misty out, and it did just fine. I'd hesitate to try it in a shower or gentle rain though.
