Evolv Rockstar Climbing Shoe - Women's

Evolv Rockstar Climbing Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 November 4, 2009

These shoes look awesome and are well constructed. They really hug your foot.

I wear a street size 8, and originally I was climbing in Evolv size 7s and they were a little roomy, so I thought I'd try a 6.5. I could get them on, but it was SUPER tight, pretty painful.

However, when I climbed in them, I did feel more confident on smaller footholds, and I noticed less slippage. The soles are pretty sticky.

I know the ad says the synthetic uppers don't stretch, but they are definitely more comfortable on me now than when I bought them (personally I'm relieved, but you might want to keep this in mind when considering sizes). However, I still have to take them off in between routes. If you want to climb longer, I would go with a larger size.

Great!

Black Diamond Diva Harness - Women's

Black Diamond Diva Harness - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 November 4, 2009

I started climbing a few months ago, and I was renting a Mad Rock harness at the gym. It was really heavy and didn't give great leg support.

This harness is super light, which is great (one less distraction when climbing). It is very reasonably priced, very comfortable, and I thought it fit true to size (I wear a size 12 and I bought the XL). It sits snug on the waist and you can adjust the distance between the waist and the leg loops for the best fit.

Only downside is that you can't adjust the width of the leg loops--luckily they fit snugly on my thighs, and they're super cushiony. No central place to attach a chalk bag, but there are attachment sites slightly right and left of center, so accessing chalk is still easy.

Quite pleased with my harness!
